Undrafted rookie Shawnbrey McNeal is vying with Curtis Brinkley and Marcus Mason to be the Chargers’ No. 3 running back.
The favorite for the spot is likely McNeal, who adds plenty in the passing game and is exceptionally quick. Brinkley was unpressive at Syracuse. Mason is established as a journeyman who pretty much only excels in preseason.
  • DET Running Back #26

Lions head coach Dan Campbell said “it doesn’t matter” when asked if he was concerned over RB Jahmyr Gibbs’ social media post that showed team plays.
Gibbs’ post was a Snapchat video that showed a whiteboard of some of the Lions’ code words for plays. Campbell said, “if we’re gonna lose because of code words, then we’re not good enough anyway.” Both Campbell and offensive coordinator Ben Johnson showed little concern over the team code words being on display and seemed to have handled the matter with Gibbs internally. Nothing they said indicates Gibbs will be in the doghouse. He can be fired up as a fantasy RB1 for Thursday against the Packers.
  • SEA Running Back #9
Kenneth Walker III (ankle/calf) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Both injuries are new issues for Walker, which could explain his inefficient play in Week 13. While his limited participation early in the week is promising, this is a situation to monitor closely, particularly the calf component. Backup RB Zach Charbonnet (elbow) practiced in full on Wednesday.
  • SEA Wide Receiver #14
DK Metcalf (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
The shoulder issue kept Metcalf sidelined on Wednesday and Thursday before he practiced in full on Friday last week. His early-week participation today suggests he suffered no setbacks in-game. Metcalf did briefly exit Week 13 due to an apparent nerve-related issue in his knee, that impacted his foot, but the team did not list his knee nor his foot on today’s report so we can consider it a thing of the past for now.
  • LAC Wide Receiver #15
Ladd McConkey (knee/shoulder) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
McConkey continues to play through injuries this season and his early-week practice participation suggests the trend will continue in Week 14. The stud rookie should push for double-digit targets in a likely pass-heavy game against the Chiefs this week.
  • MIN Tight End #84
Vikings TE Josh Oliver (wrist/ankle) is practicing in full for Week 14 against the Falcons.
Oliver missed a pair of games with the ankle issue and had the wrist injury added to his report more recently. A full practice puts him on track to return in Week 14. With T.J. Hockenson over a month removed from his 2024 debut, Oliver’s return shouldn’t affect his target volume.
  • MIN Kicker #16
Vikings K Will Reichard (quad) is practicing in full for Week 14 against the Falcons.
Reichard was just designated to return from injured reserve after being placed on the list a month ago. A full practice suggests he is good to go for Week 14. We will know for sure ahead of kickoff as the Vikings have to officially take him off injured reserve before he can suit up. Reichard is one of the top fantasy kickers when healthy and is worth a look for fantasy managers in need of a new leg.
  • NYG Linebacker #58
Giants LB Bobby Okereke (back) did not practice Wednesday.
Head coach Brian Daboll called Okereke week to week, meaning he’s unlikely to suit up versus the Saints. Okereke has two sacks, three forced fumbles, and a pair of recovered fumbles this year. He also leads the Giants in combined tackles.
  • NYG Tackle #73
Giants RT Evan Neal (hip) did not practice Wednesday.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll called Neal and left tackle Jermaine Eluemanor week to week with hip and quad injuries. Drew Lock will be behind backups at both tackle spots this week and possibly for the rest of the season.
  • NO Center #51
Saints RG Cesar Ruiz (concussion) did not practice Wednesday.
Ruiz left Week 13 with concussion symptoms and did not return. Per head coach Darren Rizzi, Ruiz has made some progress through the league’s concussion protocols. That gives him a shot at suiting up on Sunday. His practice statuses over the next two days will be telling.
  • JAX Wide Receiver #11
Jaguars signed WR Josh Reynolds, formerly of the Broncos.
That didn’t take long. Reynolds was released by the Broncos on Tuesday. The field-stretching wide receiver helps replace Gabe Davis (meniscus), who is out for the year. Reynolds is unlikely to be fantasy-relevant with Mac Jones under center, now that Trevor Lawrence (shoulder/concussion) is on injured reserve though.
