  • DET Wide Receiver
Lions waived WR/KR Michael Ray Garvin.
An All-American sprinter at Florida State, the diminutive Garvin (5'8/182) has yet to appear in an NFL game since going undrafted in April of 2009.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #84
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports the Dolphins have released Robbie Chosen from the practice squad.
For the first time since 2022, Chosen will find himself looking for a new team. In Week 2 against the Bills, he failed to find any chemistry with Tua Tagovailoa and looked out of sync with the offense. He ends his Dolphins tenure with 5-131-1
  • GB Running Back #32
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Packers have placed MarShawn Lloyd on IR.
It’s been a frustrating start to the young career of Lloyd who has promising skills. After finally getting to see regular season action, Lloyd went out with an ankle injury. He missed time earlier this season with a hamstring injury and now he’ll take several weeks to recover and get to full health. The Packers have signed Chris Brooks from the practice squad for more Josh Jacobs insurance.
  • FA Running Back #27
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports the Browns have signed Royce Freeman to their practice squad.
Freeman lands in Cleveland after having spent training camp with the Cowboys. The last time he saw regular season game action was in 2023 with the Rams where he went 77-319-2. He’ll look to provide more depth in the Browns’ running back room.
  • NE Wide Receiver #83
The Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed reports the Patriots have released Jalen Reagor.
The former first-round pick is without a team again after failing to stick with the Pats’ 53-man roster after camp. Reagor once again found himself in another crowded receiver room that no longer needed his services. He leaves the team having caught seven receptions for 138 yards during his tenure in New England.
  • DET Kicker #36
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Lions have signed Greg Joseph to the active roster.
After recently signing with the Lions’ practice squad, the Giants are bringing in the veteran kicker. Joseph will fill the void for Graham Gano who missed the Giants’ Week 2 matchup against the Commanders.
  • MIA Quarterback #1
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports the Dolphins are placing Tua Tagovailoa on Injured Reserve.
The Dolphins want to give Tua ample time to recover and progress as he goes through the concussion protocol. The earliest he could return is in Week 8 against the Cardinals, but the Dolphins have given him no official date to return. As reported earlier in the week, Tua has no plans of retiring as of now and will meet with outside neurologist before returning to play. There seems to be a decent plan in place for Tua and his eventual return.
  • CIN Defensive End #93
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Bengals are signing DE Lawrence Guy to their active roster.
The 34-year-old had been with the Patriots since 2017, serving as one of their defensive mainstays. However, he was released in the offseason after generating just 38 tackles and six total pressures in 2023. With both B.J. Hill and Sheldon Rankins getting injured in the Bengals’ Week 2 loss to the Chiefs, the team needed healthy bodies on the defensive line, and Guy started 111 of the 118 regular season and playoff games he played for the Patriots, so he has shown a knack for staying on the field.
  • KC Running Back #27
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Chiefs have signed Kareem Hunt to the practice squad.
Hunt was drafted by the Chiefs in the third round in 2017 and enjoyed a few successful years in their offense. He spent last season with the Browns, rushing for 411 yards on 135 carries (3.0 yards per carry), and was unable to unseat Jerome Ford, even after Nick Chubb got injured. Hunt himself underwent sports hernia surgery this offseason, so it’s unclear what the 29-year-old has left in the tank. He knows the offense, so he could get onto the field for the Chiefs relatively quickly, but he’s going to need to show enough in practice to suggest that he can be more impactful than Carson Steele or Semaje Perine. We’re still not sure he’ll be able to do that, but he can be added in deeper formats just in case.
  • CAR Linebacker #46
According to Tom Pelissero, the Panthers are waiving LB Eku Leota.
Leota currently leads the Panthers in sacks, but he has one sack. He’s just the only one with a full sack credited to him. Leota has four total tackles and was third on the depth chart at outside linebacker, but it’s still a bit of a curious move at this point in the season.
  • PIT Quarterback #2
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said the team is “readying ourselves around” Justin Fields for Week 3 against the Chargers.
Tomlin has refused to outright say Fields has passed Russell Wilson on the depth chart, but his actions tell us everything we need to know. Wilson is still dealing with the calf issue that forced him to miss the first two weeks of the season. Fields, in the meantime, has the team at a 2-0 record, albeit with one touchdown on the board. The former Bear has 22 carries for 84 yards this year but has done next to nothing as a passer, throwing for 273 yards in total with a lone touchdown. Fantasy managers can treat him as a low-ceiling QB2 for his upcoming game versus the Chargers.
