  • DET Wide Receiver
    Lions signed WR Bobby Sippio.
Sippio was out of football all last season. The former Arena League star will be a long shot to make the roster, although Bryant Johnson falling off golf carts will help his chances.
  • NO Running Back #41
Alvin Kamara (hand) did not practice Wednesday.
Kamara is no stranger to playing through the pain. He was on the Week 4 injury report with hip and ribs issues yet still totaled 19 carries and nine targets. Fantasy managers should tentatively expect their RB1 to suit up against the Buccaneers on Sunday.
  • LAC Linebacker #97
Joey Bosa (hip) did not practice Wednesday.
Bosa, who has struggled to stay healthy in recent seasons, has already missed two games because of the hip issue. The fact that he is not practicing coming out of LA’s bye week suggests he is still a long way out from returning. Cornerback Ja’Sir Taylor (fibula), who also missed Week 4, did not practice either. Expect the Chargers to remain undermanned on defense for Week 6 versus Denver.
  • LAC Running Back #4
Gus Edwards (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.
Edwards was already falling out of favor before LA’s Week 5 bye. He had nine carries for 28 yards over the previous two weeks. An ankle issue after a week off isn’t going to do him any favors either. If he is forced to miss Week 6, rookie Kimani Vidal could be active for the first time this year.
  • LAC Quarterback #10
Justin Herbert (ankle) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Herbert played through a high-ankle sprain in Week 4 with disastrous results. He struggled to move around the pocket and threw for 179 yards plus one touchdown en route to a 10-point performance from the entire offense. LA lost to the Chiefs by seven points. The Chargers’ Week 5 bye should help Herbert get back on his feet for their upcoming matchup with Denver. LA’s run-heavy approach will keep him in the QB2 ranks.
  • LV Defensive End #98
Maxx Crosby (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.
This is likely just a maintenance day as Crosby rehabilitates the high-ankle sprain he played through in Week 5. With Christian Wilkins now on injured reserve, Crosby is tasked with producing game-changing play all on his own.
  • LAC Tackle #76
Chargers RT Joe Alt (knee) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Left tackle Rashawn Slater (pec) was also limited. Both tackles missed Week 4 and then got a Week 5 bye to recovery. A limited session to start the week puts the duo on track to return this week. The Chargers were without both starting tackles the last time we saw them and they were held to 10 points by the Chiefs. Assuming Alt and Slater are back by Sunday, they will have a much better outlook for their matchup with the Broncos.
  • LV Running Back #3
Zamir White (groin) did not practice Wednesday.
Even if White, the Raiders’ nominal starter, suits up in Week 6, he is unlikely to finish inside the position’s top 24 against the Steelers. White is averaging just 3.1 yards per carry this year. Fantasy managers in need of a stable starter can consider dropping him.
  • LV Wide Receiver #16
Jakobi Meyers (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.
Beat reporter Vic Tafur notes Meyers “seems fine” but Meyers was absent nonetheless. It’s possible the Raiders are playing things conservatively with their de facto No. 1 WR. The offense will need him come Sunday against the Steelers.
  • IND Wide Receiver #11
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Michael Pittman (back) is expected to be sidelined for multiple weeks and “injured reserve is an option.”
Pittman was added to the injury report as a DNP on Wednesday. He dealt with a back injury earlier in the season but it never cost him any games. It’s a shocking development and one of a slew of injuries hitting the Colts’ offense. Josh Downs, who would be in line to take over No. 1 receiver duties in Pittman’s absence, missed Wednesday’s practice with a toe injury. He will leap into the WR2 ranks if healthy. Adonai Mitchell will re-enter the three-receiver rotation going forward while Alec Pierce’s contributions as a deep threat will be even more valuable in the coming weeks.
  • NO Quarterback #18
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports QB Spencer Rattler will start in Week 6 against the Bucs.
Derek Carr is expected to miss multiple weeks with a tear in his oblique. Jake Haener was also in the running to take over at quarterback, but the Saints can use Carr’s absence to see what they have in the rookie. Rattler was one of the biggest fallers of the 2024 NFL Draft, tumbling into the fifth round after many analysts believed he could go on the second day. He should be added in all Superflex leagues, though redraft managers don’t need to consider him in his first career start.
