  • PIT Defensive Lineman #91

Steelers DE Aaron Smith has a biceps tear, coach Mike Tomlin announced Tuesday. Smith will be placed on injured reserve, ending his season.
Outside of Troy Polamalu, Smith is quite possibly the MVP of Pittsburgh’s defense because of his versatility, so it’s a brutal loss for the Steelers heading down the closing stretch. Tomlin did not name a replacement, but veteran backups Travis Kirschke and Nick Eason should see additional snaps.
  • LAR Quarterback #9

Rams coach Sean McVay said Matthew Stafford (back) is dealing with soreness and the Rams plan to limit his practice time during the first five days of training camp.
Same. This doesn’t have the look of anything major at this point, but we’ll monitor the situation. Stafford has fringe QB1 upside in fantasy leagues this year with the addition of Davante Adams, but he has been increasingly prone to getting dinged up since missing half of the 2022 season. You’ll all understand when you turn 37.
Cowboys reportedly unhappy with Blue's work habits
Patrick Daugherty reacts to a report around Cowboys rookie Jaydon Blue's work habits and why this is happening at "the right time" with room to course correct before Week 1.
  • CHI Defensive End #92
Bears signed DL Tanoh Kpassagnon and CB Tre Flowers.
Kpassagnon, a bane to spellcheck, played with Dennis Allen’s Saints the past three seasons. Flowers is cornerback depth with Jaylon Johnson (leg) set to miss a few weeks of training camp with an injury he suffered this offseason.
  • LAR Tackle #79
Rams RT Rob Havenstein said he’ll be “full go” for the beginning of training camp.
Havenstein had shoulder surgery this offseason, but appears to have rebounded well and should be on pace to be ready for the start of the regular season. The stalwart 33-year-old tackle missed six games last year and three games in 2023.
  • CHI Tight End
Bears GM Ryan Pace said TE Colston Loveland (shoulder) will be “ready to go.”
Ditto LT Braxton Jones. Pace then said “there will likely be a ramp-up period.” So they’re good to be ready to slowly get ready to go. Either way, there’s no reason to have any long-term concern about Loveland’s shoulder heading into his rookie season.
  • PHI Defensive End #54
    Eagles signed EDGE Ogbo Okoronkwo.
Released by the Browns in late June, Okorokwo is a fine situation pass-rusher and likely will help fill the void left by Josh Sweat in Philadelphia. Okoronkwo had 7.5 sacks in two years with the Browns after a stint with the Lovie Smith Texans in 2022 got him onto the grander NFL radar. Philadelphia also added DT Jacob Sykes and waived RB Lew Nichols and DE KJ Henry to make room for Sykes and Okoronkwo.
  • DAL Defensive End #96
    Cowboys signed EDGE James Houston.
Houston was claimed off waivers by the Browns late in the season and non-tendered. He enters a deep Dallas EDGE depth chart and is unlikely to be more than a situational pass rusher for the team. Houston had eight sacks in 2022 and one sack in the two seasons since. Dallas waived Luiji Vilain in a corresponding move. Vilain will seek to catch on with Waluiji elsewhere.
  • LAR Running Back #23
Rams RB Kyren Williams said he will practice during training camp without a formalized contract extension.
In other words, Williams is not a hold-in. Williams said that he does anticipate a contract extension getting done, but that he doesn’t have a timeline for when it will happen. It’s great news for Williams’ fantasy stock, as he should remain a top-15 fantasy back in 2025 based on volume and skillset.
  • TEN Wide Receiver #16
Titans GM Mike Borgonzi said Treylon Burks (knee) will be good to “everything” in training camp.
The fourth-year wideout appears to have come back from his Week 5 ACL tear ahead of schedule. That doesn’t mean you need to make him a fantasy football selection this year — that ship has probably sailed — but it’s great news for his chances of continuing his NFL career. And hey, it’s not like beating out Van Jefferson for a starting job is hard, right?
  • Titans GM Mike Borgonzi said C Lloyd Cushenberry (Achilles) will start on the PUP list and is “week to week.”
Not great news for the Titans that their high-priced free agent center is starting training camp with some real doubt on a return date. The depth chart behind Cushenberry at center includes Corey Levin and Brenden Jaimes, either of whom would likely be a bottom-five starter in the NFL at the position if pressed into action.
  • TEN Cornerback #38
Titans GM Mike Borgonzi said CB L’Jarius Sneed (knee) will start on the PUP list and is “week to week” after undergoing a “cleanup” surgery.
Good to know things project to be normal with Sneed again this year. Sneed declared himself healthy in late June, but this puts him at a real chance of missing 2025 action. The Titans did note that he’s officially shook his quad injury, so at least there’s that on the positive side of the ledger.
