ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Raiders “currently have no plans” to trade Maxx Crosby.

Crosby was the subject of rampant trade rumors as the deadline approached last year. Nothing materialized then, but the team ultimately found a partner in the Ravens during the offseason. The deal was signed and Crosby had his flight to Baltimore booked, but the Ravens backed out at the last minute after Crosby failed his physical. Crosby’s baulky knee was a long-term concern for the Ravens, though it hasn’t even been mentioned this year. Schefter added that Crosby no longer wants to be traded, which was not a foregone conclusion this time last year. Even in the midst of a four-game losing streak, the Raiders are still contenders in the AFC West, giving them reason enough to hold onto their star pass-rusher.

Cousins and Crosby got into it Friday with the 37-year-old quarterback taking exception after multiple hits from Crosby. Cousins got in Crosby’s face and grabbed his jersey as the two exchanged words before it was broken up. Both will sit out practice Saturday, but should be back on the field soon.

Crosby underwent meniscus surgery in January after playing through a left knee injury for much of last season. His health and failed physical were infamously the reason for a failed trade with the Ravens, but new Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak said the 28-year-old is ready for the start of training camp. He will not have the same limits as he did for the offseason program; Crosby is on track to be a full-go heading into the season.

Multiple league sources tell Bonsignore that the Raiders would revisit the idea of trading Crosby away “if the right offer was made.” According to Bonsignore’s sources, the 49ers could make a play for him if they so desire. The Raiders nearly traded Crosby to the Ravens earlier this offseason, but the Ravens cancelled the deal due to concerns over a “degenerative issue” in his knee. Per Bonsignore, if Crosby “returns to terrorizing Raiders’ practices during training camp, he’ll put all concerns to rest,” and “the Raiders will be flooded with calls from interested teams.” The 49ers hope to make a Super Bowl run this season. Adding Crosby to their pass rush makes sense. Williams, the 49ers’ EDGE in reference, is currently recovering from a torn ACL and it is unclear whether he will be able to play in Week 1. At 22 years old, he is more of a long-term option anyway, and the Raiders are currently rebuilding. This framework is interesting and could work well for both sides. Stay tuned.

Crosby underwent knee surgery at the start of the offseason and has been working his way back since. The Ravens were set to acquire the 28-year-old pass rusher before a failed physical due to concerns with his knee nixed the deal. Crosby is instead back with the Raiders and continuing to rehab after the knee ended his 2025 season early. New head coach Klint Kubiak said the goal is to have Crosby back and healthy by training camp.

Atkins believes the Raiders have mended their relationship with Crosby, and currently plan to keep him, but “the organization’s approach could change if the Raiders hit another tough start to a season.” Per Atkins, the Rams also “want to be one of the rare teams willing to trade from an expectedly loaded 2027 draft class” as they pursue a Super Bowl this year. If the rest of the NFL is set on keeping their 2027 picks, it could give the Rams an opportunity to exploit the market. Many things can change between now and this season’s trade deadline, so this scenario should not be considered likely to happen. If a big, pre-deadline move has been on the Rams’ mind, it could partially explain why they used the 2026 NFL Draft’s No. 13 overall pick on a developmental player, rather than an immediate starter, though.

In a lengthy breakdown about how the trade failed to come to fruition, the Ravens ultimately weren’t concerned about Crosby’s 2026 season, but about his “durability after a couple of seasons.” Crosby has said that he’s a “Raider for life” since on his own podcast, but Fowler notes that teams continue to check on Crosby’s availability, that the asking price remains high, and that teams are reluctant to meet it. It is possible that “a window of opportunity opens closer to the draft,” so we’re probably not out of the Crosby trade rumor blurb business just yet.

Crosby said the world will “get the best version of 98" in 2026 after the Ravens failed him on his physical just days after agreeing to a trade with the Raiders. The star pass-rusher recently declared himself “a Raider” on social media, suggesting he’s hoping to remain with the team this upcoming season, and it’s been reported that the asking price for Crosby hasn’t changed despite the Ravens reneging on the deal. Crosby suffered a knee injury last season that he played through, but he still underwent offseason surgery to repair a torn meniscus. One of the true Iron Men of the league, Crosby is no doubt motivated to prove the Ravens made the wrong move in sending him back to Vegas. He’ll have a sizable chip on his shoulder and a lot to prove if he is ready for training camp.

Prior reports indicated that Crosby was unwilling to play for the Raiders ever again. He has seemingly changed his mind, telling Raiders fans, “I’m back.” Crosby was nearly traded to the Ravens in exchange for two first-round picks, but the Ravens withdrew from the deal yesterday, citing a failed physical. Earlier today, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported that the Raiders’ asking price for Crosby had not changed. Trading away Crosby for draft picks makes sense for a team that is ostensibly beginning a rebuild. Whether the Raiders’ front office has changed its mind about jettisoning him remains unknown. But Crosby, for his part, appears ready to don the Silver and Black once again.
  • BAL General Manager
He added that the team started contract talks with Hendrickson after the team lost center Tyler Linderbaum in free agency. For those out of the loop: Baltimore agreed to trade two first-round picks for Crosby earlier this week, only to back out of the deal at the last minute, citing a failed physical. They then inked Hendrickson to a four-year deal just over 12 hours later. Multiple reports have suggested NFL staffers around the league found the series of moves detestable. Given that Crosby underwent offseason meniscus surgery, DeCosta does have a reasonable alibi for calling off the trade. Now Baltimore will move forward with Hendrickson and their full allotment of first-round selections over the next two drafts.

For now, the Raiders are standing strong on their demand for multiple first rounders for any team interested in taking the perpetually disgruntled Crosby, 28, off their hands after the Ravens backed out of a trade for Crosby on Tuesday. Russini said Wednesday that Crosby’s short-term health prospects are “positive” while concern remains about the long-term outlook for his injured knee. Crosby is reportedly rehabbing in the Raiders facility today as he awaits word on where the Raiders will deal him ahead of the 2026 season.

Jakobi Meyers (hamstring/ankle) was listed as limited on Monday’s estimated practice report.

The veteran receiver played through both ailments in Week 8 but was limited to only 54 percent of the team’s offensive snaps in a blowout win. Fantasy managers will want to monitor his status in the coming days, with the expectation that he continues to play through the injuries against the Ravens on Thursday Night Football.

Chris Rodriguez (hand) was limited on Monday’s estimated practice report.

This appears to be a non-issue as the veteran change of pace back should be fine for Thursday Night Football against the Ravens. Of greater concern was the absence of lead back Bayshul Tuten, something fantasy managers of both players will want to monitor as Thursday draw nearer. Rodriguez would seemingly be in line for a featured role if Tuten is unable to play on a short week.

Bhayshul Tuten (ankle/foot) was listed as a “DNP” on Monday’s estimated practice report.

Tuten briefly left the team’s Week 8 win in the first quarter but returned to amass 159 total yards and two touchdowns against the overmatched Colts. Fantasy managers will want to track his status closely as the team makes a quick turn to face the Ravens on Thursday Night Football.

Justice Hill (groin) was listed as limited on Monday’s estimated practice report.

The fact he was listed as limited and not a “DNP” likely signals a more modest injury and we would expect Hill to suit up when the Ravens take on the Jaguars on Thursday Night Football in Week 9. Either way, fantasy managers likely have better options at the position.

Mark Andrews (hand) was listed as a full participant on Monday’s estimated injury report.

That keeps the veteran tight end on track to suit up in Week 9 against the Jaguars on Thursday Night Football. Andrews has struggled to return usable fantasy weeks throughout his age-31 season, with the team now down to their third, potentially fourth, quarterback for Thursday’s game. he can safely be left on fantasy benches on the short week.

Zach Charbonnet (knee) and Jadarian Price (chest) are active for Week 8 against the Bears.

Charbonnet makes his season debut after a suffering a torn ACL late in the 2025 season while Price returns from short-term injure reserve due to a chest injury. Emmanuel Wilson and George Holani had held down the backfield in the absence of the two top backs, leaving an uncertain situation regarding expected backfield utilization when the Seahawks take on the Bears in a marquee matchup. Inactive for the Seahawks are QB Drew Lock, LB Uchenna Nwosu, WR Rashid Shaheed, RB Velus Jones Jr., OT Charles Cross, G Beau Stephens, and NT Brandon Pili.

Bears declared RB Kyle Monangai, QB Case Keenum, DB Malik Muhammad, OL Jordan McFadden, DL Jayden Loving, and OL Jordan van den Berg inactive for Week 8 against the Seahawks.

No real surprises here after Monangai was ruled out for Week 8 on Saturday, leaving D’Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson to handle backfield duties in a difficult matchup against the Seahawks. The two had operated in a loosely split backfield before Week 7, during which Swift saw workhorse usage in a tight game against the Patriots. It would appear likely that Swift will once again see the bulk of the work considering the opponent, making him a surefire RB2 with RB1 upside to cap the Week 8 festivities.

Jesse Minter said the team is considering injured reserve for Tyler Loop (undisclosed).

Loop suffered an undisclosed injury in the Week 8 loss to the Bills, something that is reportedly serious enough to warrant injured reserve consideration. When asked if Jake Moody would be kicking on Thursday Night Football against the Jaguars, Minter replied with a simple, “At this point, yes.” The Ravens were dealt numerous injury issues in their loss to the Bills as they lost both Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley, with third string rookie Joe Fagnano also emerging dinged up after taking numerous hard sacks.

Jesse Minter said Joe Fagnano (ankle) is “dealing with some things physically” but has a chance to start in Week 9.

Whelp, that isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement for the rookie quarterback’s chances of starting under center for the Ravens when they host the Jaguars on Thursday Night Football to kick off Week 9. The team lost both Lamar Jackson to a season-ending thumb injury and backup Tyler Huntley to a turf toe injury in their Week 8 loss to the Bills, now in desperate need of a viable quarterback option as they fight for their playoff lives. It is possible the team addresses the position through trade with just over a week until the trade deadline, although that is unlikely to help them on a short week. More to come in what quickly became a dire situation in Baltimore. Fagnano was officially listed as limited on the team’s estimated practice report Monday.

Jim Harbaugh said the team will open the 21-day practice window for David Njoku this week.

Njoku has been on the shelf since being placed on injured reserve ahead of Week 3, with the potential to return following five missed games plus the team’s Week 7 bye. The team will have 21 days to activate him from short-term injured reserve, meaning Njoku is not guaranteed to be activated in time for Week 9 against the Texans. Fantasy managers that have held Njoku through his time on injured reserve can continue patiently waiting for his return while those in shallower leagues can consider adding him from waivers before he is activated.
