Colts coach Shane Steichen said Tyler Warren (groin) is “good to go” for Indianapolis’ Week 8 game against the Jaguars.

Warren was limited in practice on Thursday and Wednesday and will return to a rough receiver corps against a Jaguars defense coming off bye. Warren remains a startable TE1, but it’s hard to forge much of a ceiling case for him at this point.

It was his second consecutive limited showing following two missed games, with his level of activity Friday likely to be telling as it pertains to a potential return in Week 8. Warren’s absence has been felt hard by a Colts offense that has struggled to move the football consistently. He would likely return to a sizable role over the middle of the field against the pass-funnel Jaguars, if active in Week 8.
  • IND Tight End #84
This is Warren’s first practice in two weeks, indicating he’s close to making a return. With Josh Downs failing to step up in his absence, the Colts desperately need Warren back in the lineup as their de facto WR1. Downs has also requested a trade, which would open up even more work for him. If all goes well in practice this week, Warren will be back in the TE1 mix for his Week 8 matchup with the Jags.
  • IND Tight End #84
Warren was declared out earlier in the week due to a groin injury. Sauce Gardner (calf) and Anthony Gould (concussion) were also already declared out while Bryce Boettcher (groin) and CJ Allen (ankle) were declared out after having a questionable tag. Riley Leonard will serve as the team’s emergency third quarterback.

Warren was a DNP throughout the week and has now been ruled out for this week’s game against the Vikings. This will be the second straight missed game for Warren, who first suffered the injury in last Friday’s practice. The Vikings have allowed the fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season, meaning fantasy managers are best off avoiding Will Mallory and Mo Alie-Cox as streaming options this week.
  • IND Tight End #84
He’s firmly on the wrong side of questionable. The media attention in Indianapolis this week has been spent on the firing of Chris Ballard rather than chasing down Warren’s status, but he does seem very unlikely to play and hasn’t practiced since last Thursday.
  • IND Tight End #84
Warren suffered a groin injury during Friday’s practice last week. He was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. Though he was reportedly considered a game-time decision over the weekend, the Colts shut him down on Sunday. A DNP today suggests he will miss at least one more game. Keenan Allen led the Colts with eight catches for 82 yards last week. He remains an unfortunately viable PPR scam as long as Warren is out versus the Vikings.
  • IND Tight End #84
Warren suffered a groin injury during Friday’s practice and was put on the questionable line; this is not great news for his chances of playing in Week 7’s game. Fantasy managers relying on Warren must immediately pivot elsewhere. Also inactive for the Colts are WR Ashton Dulin, LB Jaylon Carlies, QB Riley Leonard (third quarterback), and G Dalton Tucker.
  • IND Tight End #84
Warren suffered the groin injury during Friday’s practice. He was added to the injury report and listed as questionable for Week 6. Of note, Warren also dealt with a groin injury late in training camp, though he was ready to go for Week 1 and had not appeared on the injury report again until this week. Even if he does suit up, Warren will be at far less than 100 percent. Expect Josh Downs and Keenan Allen to take on more work whether or not Warren is active.
  • IND Tight End #84
Warren popped up on the injury report on Friday after suffering the injury in practice. Fantasy managers who were relying on Warren likely won’t find a good enough option to replace him with proactively on waivers at this point, so it makes some sense to sit and wait for more reporting to come out or for him to be ruled out. This was, frankly, the last thing the Colts needed given how banged up their receiving corps has been.

Warren also added a one-yard touchdown run on a tush push after Jonathan Taylor and Daniel Jones were stuffed on the previous three plays. The second-year tight end ran a route on 40 of the team’s 47 dropbacks and shared the team lead in targets with Keenan Allen. Daniel Jones is keeping the ceiling of this passing game in check with his inefficient play, but Warren is probably the most reliable receiver on the team and remains a TE1. He just lacks the upside to push inside the top five at the position unless Jones can get going.

Aaron Jones (knee) is active for Week 8 against the Lions.

Jones was able to practice in full on Friday after battling the lingering knee issue all week. He could be somewhat limited against Detroit, creating a potentially bigger workload for Jordan Mason, who profiles as a flex option in 12-team leagues. Vikings declared Jakobe Thomas, Charles Demmings, Demond Claiborne, Caleb Tiernan, Elijah Williams, and Max Brosmer inactive against the Lions.

Calvin Ridley (hip) is active for Week 8 against the Bengals.

Ridley entered the week questionable due to a hip injury but will be active after getting in a full practice on Friday. The Titans declared WR Carnell Tate, RB Tyjae Spears, P Tommy Townsend, CB Jaylon Jones, OT Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson, TE Kylen Granson, and DT Jackie Marshall inactive for Week 8 against the Bengals. Ridley will be one of the Titans’ top pass-catchers with Carnell Tate (shoulder) already ruled out, but is not more than a touchdown-dependent fantasy WR4 this week.

Kenneth Gainwell (hip) is active for Week 8 against the Falcons.

Right tackle Luke Goedeke is also active. Gainwell will continue mixing in behind Bucky Irving this week. He has yet to hit a dozen fantasy points in a game this year and there’s no reason to expect that to change anytime soon. Gainwell is a low-end RB4 for Week 8. Inactive for the Bucs are DL DeMonte Capehart, WR Emeka Egbuka, CB Ayden Garnes, OT Luke Haggard, and OG Billy Schrauth.

Breece Hall (quad) is inactive for Week 8 against the Raiders.

Hall seems to have suffered a rather serious setback with the quad injury that has been dogging him since September. This is easily said in hindsight, but it would seem Gang Green did not handle the issue particularly well. Hall is supposedly “hoping for next week,” but we would consider him on the wrong side of questionable until further notice. Isaiah Davis will serve as Braelon Allen’s breather back. Joining Hall on the shelf are EDGE David Bailey, WR Tim Patrick, CB Nahshon Wright, ED David Bailey, OL Kohl Levao and OL Max Mitchell.

George Pickens (shoulder/hamstring) is active for Dallas’ Week 8 game against the Cardinals.

Pickens was expected to play after being listed as questionable. He can be counted on as a WR2 against a rough Cardinals defense. Inactive for the Cowboys are: WR KaVontae Turpin (rib), LB Dee Winters (Achilles), TE Luke Schoonmaker (groin), CB Shavon Revel Jr., OLB Tyrus Wheat and OT Drew Shelton. Winters and Turpin were ruled out on Friday, Schoonmaker was questionable. Also playing off questionable tags are DT Kenny Clark (bakc) and DT Jonathan Bullard (calf).

NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe reports Dalton Kincaid (chest) is expected to play in Week 8 against the Ravens.

Kincaid got banged up late in Week 6 and then got a bye week to rest up. He was limited in all three practices this week before being listed as questionable for Week 8. Kincaid will play a part-time role, per usual, but his elite efficiency has been enough to keep him in the TE1 mix so far. Playing in a shootout with the Ravens, he’ll remain in the top 12 tight ends this week as well.

NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe said Lamar Jackson (ankle) “won’t be 100 percent” in Week 8 against the Bills.

The good news, per Wolfe, is that Jackson will still be able to move despite playing on a bum ankle. Jackson told reporters the pain is “bearable” earlier in the week, which didn’t exactly inspire confidence from Ravens fans and fantasy managers. On the other hand, if Jackson is out there, we expect him to be mobile enough to lead a top-flight offense. A date with the Bills, which features the highest game total of the week, should also create an incredible environment for fantasy production. He is back at the top of the QB1 mix for a likely shootout with the Bills.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Colts want a third-round pick for Josh Downs.

The Colts are already the league’s biggest sellers ahead of the trade deadline and they’re not done yet. While they get plenty of interest in Downs, a third-round pick might be too much to ask after his slow start to the year. Downs has 26 catches for 307 yards as we approach the midway point of the season. Downs is also set to become a free agent in the spring, meaning that he might play only a handful of games for his new team. On the other hand, his disappointing season can largely be written off as the product of a failing offense. Fantasy managers should at least hold onto Downs until the trade deadline, even if he’s barely a WR3 as things stand right now.

Jordan Schultz reports the Vikings, Giants, Broncos, Bengals and Packers are amongst the teams that have “checked in” on a potential Jonathan Taylor trade.

The Vikings dots have been getting connected for a while now, so it’s not surprising to see something of a confirmation they are interested. The Giants and Bengals also make all the sense in the world. Green Bay would be a fit, as well, though it would be a bit surprising to see the Broncos add to their running back surplus. Taylor, of course, would blow their other backs out of the water. There’s enough smoke here to believe a fire might break out, but the Colts can probably be taken at their word that it would take an overpay to pry away what amounts to their franchise player right now.
