Jets coach Aaron Glenn said Breece Hall (quad) is questionable for New York’s Week 8 game against the Raiders.

It’s been a full week of limited practices for Hall, so he profiles as a true game-time decision at this point as we head to the weekend. New York’s franchise running back declined to answer reporter questions in the locker room about whether he’d play or not. Hall would profile as an RB2 if he’s deemed ready to go, presuming no snap count, against the Raiders.
Who could Chiefs target on the trade market?
Mike Florio and Chris Simms discuss what wide receiver the Kansas City Chiefs could trade for as the deadline approaches and the offense needs some juice on the outside to support Kenneth Walker III.

Stevens said that this trade “could happen at any moment,” telling Broncos Country that they “might not want to go to sleep.” While this could be hyperbole, it sounds like Stevens is saying the trade could go down tonight. Stevens said he’s had conversations with multiple people on the matter, and the Broncos “know that this is not the time to wait and develop” young running backs. Stevens closed by reminding viewers that the Broncos were very interested in Breece Hall at one point, and added that there are likely other backup plans that the Broncos could be considering.

Hall seems to have suffered a rather serious setback with the quad injury that has been dogging him since September. This is easily said in hindsight, but it would seem Gang Green did not handle the issue particularly well. Hall is supposedly “hoping for next week,” but we would consider him on the wrong side of questionable until further notice. Isaiah Davis will serve as Braelon Allen’s breather back. Joining Hall on the shelf are EDGE David Bailey, WR Tim Patrick, CB Nahshon Wright, ED David Bailey, OL Kohl Levao and OL Max Mitchell.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported an hour ago that Braelon Allen will get the start, but he didn’t explicitly rule out Hall for Week 8. Fowler’s report makes things relatively black and white. Hall will miss today’s game versus the Raiders. He got in three practices this week before being listed as questionable on Friday. Though a Week 9 return is on the table, the Jets’ failure to put Hall on IR, only for him to miss at least five games, suggests his injury is worse than they initially expected. It’s possible he’s held out beyond today’s game. Braelon Allen will continue to dominate the Jets’ backfield touches until Hall returns.

Rapoport mentioned that Breece Hall is still dealing with his quad injury, though he didn’t explicitly say that Hall will not play this week. For now, fantasy managers should assume he is out, marking his fifth absence because of the injury. Allen is averaging 20.8 touches and 105 yards from scrimmage without Hall this year. He is back on the RB1/2 border for Week 8.

This will be the third straight limited practice for Hall, which is an encouraging sign as he looks to return to action since last playing in Week 3 against the Lions. If he’s active, Hall will likely find himself in a bit more of a timeshare with Braelon Allen, who has rushed for 357 yards and a touchdown on 72 carries in Hall’s absence while averaging a solid 5.0 YPC. We will provide an update on Hall’s Week 8 availability when the team announces it, but at worst, we would expect him to carry a questionable tag entering the weekend.

Hall appears more likely than not to play this week if he can get in one more practice on Friday. At the very least, he’s likely headed for an actual questionable tag this week. We’ll see what Aaron Glenn has to say Friday morning. Braelon Allen-reliant managers will want to pay attention to that one.

Hall returned to practice last week for two limited sessions. He was listed as questionable on Friday but didn’t seem to be in the running to play by Sunday morning. The Jets ultimately ruled him out before kickoff. That ramp-up period suggests he should be back to face the Patriots this week. Braelon Allen has likely played himself into a large role even once Hall is healthy, but the latter should still operate as the team’s clear No. 1 back this week, putting him in the RB2 mix versus Las Vegas.

Hall was reportedly unlikely to play as of this morning, so the news of his absence doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Braelon Allen will draw the start once again. Facing a dreadful Miami defense, Allen is on the RB1/2 border for Week 7. Also inactive for the Jets are CB Jarvis Brownlee, OG Dylan Parham, EDGE Joe Ossai, RB Kene Nwangwu, OG Max Mitchell, and DT Jack Heflin.

Rapoport added that Hall might work out to see if he can go, but it’s “a bit early” for him to return. That means he won’t be playing this week. Hall returned to practice on Wednesday but never got in a full session. The team will give him another week to ramp up. He should be back for Week 8 versus the Raiders. Braelon Allen will draw the start again this week, putting him near the top of the RB2 ranks versus Miami.

Glenn said Hall will be limited in Friday’s practice and that the team will “see how that goes” to close out the week. Hall has missed the last three games with his quad injury but the fact he is closing out the week with two-straight limited practices suggests he’ll be a true game-time decision entering Sunday. If he’s unable to play, Braelon Allen would again serve as the primary back in the Jets’ backfield and would be a fringe RB1/RB2 in what is shaping up to be a plus matchup against the lowly Dolphins.

YaYa Diaby is believed to have suffered a sprained MCL after the Buccaneers’ Week 8 win over the Falcons.

Diaby will undergo an MRI to confirm the severity of the injury, but according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the team his hopeful that this injury will “not cause him to miss extended time.” Diaby has 16 tackles, three sacks, and one interception this season, with all three of his sacks coming in the Bucs’ Week 7 win over the Panthers. Even if he doesn’t miss too much time, it’s possible he’ll be sidelined for at least Week 9’s game against the Bears on Sunday Night Football.

Chig Okonkwo caught 2-of-4 targets for 32 yards in the Commanders’ Week 8 win over the Eagles.

Okonkwo flashed his athletic ability with a full-stretch reception in the second half but it was not enough to overshadow a first quarter fumble. The spry veteran has now been held to four receptions or fewer in four of five appearances in the low volume Washington pass offense, unable to return consistent fantasy value through the absence of Terry McLaurin. He is best left on fantasy benches in a Week 9 matchup against the Rams.

Stefon Diggs caught 3-of-6 targets for 38 yards and a touchdown in the Commanders’ Week 8 win over the Eagles.

Offensive coordinator David Blough ha made good on his promise not to increase the route participation or snap rate of the veteran receiver in the absence of Terry McLaurin, effectively keeping Diggs relegated to a situational role primarily from the slot. That has left Treylon Burks and rookie Antonio Williams to lead the team in routes the previous two weeks while limiting the true ceiling of Diggs in the process. Consider Diggs a touchdown-dependent FLEX option in a difficult matchup against the Rams in Week 9.

Antonio Williams caught 5-of-7 targets for 54 yards in the Commanders’ Week 8 win over the Eagles.

Williams mostly operated in a short area role but added a 30-yard grab up the seam in the fourth quarter to pad his counting stats for fantasy managers hoping on a second-half rookie breakout. While the fantasy returns have yet to pop, managers can continue to hold the electric rookie in the hopes his role grows in the coming weeks. That said, he is likely best left on fantasy benches until his route structure improves.

Treylon Burks caught 3-of-5 targets for 81 yards in the Commanders’ Week 8 win over the Eagles.

A 53-yard reception toward the end of the third quarter did the bulk of the damage for Burks, who continues to give the Commanders their best deep option in the absence of Terry McLaurin. That doesn’t necessarily mean he carries weekly fantasy value considering the poor state of a Washington offense that got its first win in a Jayden Daniels start since 5 October of 2025. Burks is likely best left on the waiver wire ahead of a Week 9 meeting with the Rams.

Rachaad White rushed 11 times for 55 yards and a touchdown in the Commanders’ Week 8 win over the Eagles, adding five yards on two receptions.

White averaged just over two yards per carry on his first eight attempts before breaking loose for a 33-yard gain entering the final two minutes of the fourth quarter. He would find the end zone two plays later to salvage an otherwise underwhelming fantasy outing while operating in a three-way timeshare with Austin Ekeler and Jeremy McNichols. Although White’s fantasy value is clearly higher in the absence of Jacory Croskey-Merritt, his performance in Week 8 goes down as his first fantasy-viable start through the first eight weeks of the 2026 season. Fantasy managers are likely better off exploring alternatives ahead of a poor matchup against the Rams in Week 9.

Jayden Daniels completed 16-of-29 passes for 217 yards and a touchdown in the Commanders’ 27-10, Week 8 win over the Eagles, adding 23 yards on two carries.

Daniels started the game going 4-of-10 passing in the first quarter, which included an interception that was called back due to penalty, two false start penalties in the red zone, and a missed field goal, causing the Commanders to quickly fall into a 10-point deficit. They would clean things up from there as they rattled off 27 unanswered points to improve to 2-4-1 as they chase the division-leading Giants. A 53-yard completion to Treylon Burks and 30-yard completions to Antonio Williams and Stefon Diggs gave the offense explosive plays in key situations during the final three frames to boost Daniels’ counting stats despite poor efficiency. The win was the first victory in a Daniels start since 5 October of the 2025 season as the Commanders saved their season, at least for the moment. They get a difficult matchup against the Rams in Week 9, where Daniels will remain a middling QB2.

Dallas Goedert caught 3-of-4 targets for 30 yards in the Eagles’ Week 8 loss to the Commanders, adding two yards on one carry.

Goedert also committed a drop that was intercepted in the down performance, although the play in question was overturned through penalty. The veteran tight end continues to be limited by an ineffective offense with Tanner McKee under center in what has quickly become a lost season after the team’s sixth consecutive loss. Fantasy managers are likely better off looking for viable alternatives ahead of a Week 9 divisional clash with the Giants.
