Alvin Kamara rushed six times for five yards in the Saints’ Week 8 loss to the Steelers, adding seven receptions for 57 yards.

Tyler Shough ended up leading the Saints with seven rushing yards. Yikes. Kamara was effective as a receiver out of the backfield, but to say that New Orleans struggled to run the ball is quite the understatement as they finished with 18 yards on 17 attempts. The good news for fantasy managers that used Kamara is that he was effective out of the backfield as a receiver, but it’s a modest day for the 31-year-old. Kamara and the Saints will try and get something going after a bye against the Browns in Week 9.

Kamara was still listed as limited in Friday’s practice, but the Saints feel confident enough in his health to clear him for Week 7. Kamara found the end zone last week on a 31-yard reception, but has largely been inefficient with his touches this season. He seen 14 opportunities to Kendre Miller’s 30 over the last two weeks and will be hard to trust as anything more than a touchdown-dependent RB3 against the Steelers. The only players on the Saints carrying injury designations into the weekend are guard Cesar Ruiz (knee) and DL Nathan Sheperd (illness). Both are listed as questionable.
  • NO Running Back #41
He’s played through this listing for a few weeks now, and though he’ll sometimes get dinged up in game, appears no worse for the wear. Kendre Miller feels like the more viable back in a normal game script right now, with Kamara playing more on passing downs.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara has been playing through the back issue for several weeks. He is expected to do so again this week. Kamara is part of a three-back committee, and he isn’t the leader of the trio, but that didn’t stop him from finding the end zone on nine touches last week. With a limited receiving role to go along with his shrinking rushing workload, he’s barely in the RB3 mix for Week 7.
  • NO Running Back #41
The Saints deployed a committee backfield once again for Week 6. Kamara was the third running back into the game for the Saints, but was the only one to score a touchdown. He briefly went to the medical tent after falling on his hip in the first half but re-entered the game soon after. Kamara caught a swing pass from Tyler Shough and tip-toed away from the sideline to score from 17 yards out in the third quarter. With that catch, he became the sixth player in NFL history with 5,000 yards receiving and 5,000 yards rushing in his career. Despite the touchdown and milestone, Kamara was still third in running back snaps and is a touchdown-dependent FLEX play for Week 7 against the Steelers.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara is active after NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported he would be expected to play in Week 6. He played through the back injury last week and is part of a rough running back committee in the Saints backfield. Kamara is in the RB4 ranks for fantasy purposes. Also active is Chris Olave (illness). The Saints declared QB Zach Wilson, EDGE Anfernee Jennings, S Mike Reid, LB Kaden Elliss, DT Nathan Shepherd, and DT John Ridgeway inactive for Week 6 against the Giants.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara played through the back issue last week, though he only saw five touches. He has fallen behind Kendre Miller in the pecking order for carries, and even CJ Donaldson is pushing him for work on passing downs. Kamara is barely an RB4 for Week 6.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara practiced each day this week, so it’s a bit surprising to see him here. Assuming no rough quotes or reports come out, we’d regard him as on the optimistic side of questionable. He’s a reasonable FLEX play against the Giants.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara played through this injury in Week 5, and it doesn’t seem like he’s in any real danger of missing this one. It would be nice to see a full practice on Friday, but even if we don’t get that, Kamara should be a FLEX consideration for Week 6.
  • NO Running Back #41
Kamara played through the back injury last week but only touched the ball five times. Kendre Miller rushed 10 times and CJ Donaldson led the team in snaps. The Saints are likely managing Kamara’s workload as he deals with this back issue. Kamara is not on the fantasy radar for Week 6.
  • NO Running Back #41
He “added” two catches for -6 yards. Kamara rotated with Kendre Miller and CJ Donaldson throughout the game. Donaldson ultimately led the backfield in snaps, while Miller’s 10 carries paced the team. Kamara only touched the ball once in the second half and spent long stretches of the final two quarters on the sidelines with his helmet off. The team was likely managing his reps while he played through a back injury. He was listed as questionable heading into today’s game. As part of a three-man committee, Kamara is barely an RB4 for his Week 6 date with the Giants.

Jakobi Meyers (hamstring/ankle) was listed as limited on Monday’s estimated practice report.

The veteran receiver played through both ailments in Week 8 but was limited to only 54 percent of the team’s offensive snaps in a blowout win. Fantasy managers will want to monitor his status in the coming days, with the expectation that he continues to play through the injuries against the Ravens on Thursday Night Football.

Chris Rodriguez (hand) was limited on Monday’s estimated practice report.

This appears to be a non-issue as the veteran change of pace back should be fine for Thursday Night Football against the Ravens. Of greater concern was the absence of lead back Bayshul Tuten, something fantasy managers of both players will want to monitor as Thursday draw nearer. Rodriguez would seemingly be in line for a featured role if Tuten is unable to play on a short week.

Bhayshul Tuten (ankle/foot) was listed as a “DNP” on Monday’s estimated practice report.

Tuten briefly left the team’s Week 8 win in the first quarter but returned to amass 159 total yards and two touchdowns against the overmatched Colts. Fantasy managers will want to track his status closely as the team makes a quick turn to face the Ravens on Thursday Night Football.

Justice Hill (groin) was listed as limited on Monday’s estimated practice report.

The fact he was listed as limited and not a “DNP” likely signals a more modest injury and we would expect Hill to suit up when the Ravens take on the Jaguars on Thursday Night Football in Week 9. Either way, fantasy managers likely have better options at the position.

Mark Andrews (hand) was listed as a full participant on Monday’s estimated injury report.

That keeps the veteran tight end on track to suit up in Week 9 against the Jaguars on Thursday Night Football. Andrews has struggled to return usable fantasy weeks throughout his age-31 season, with the team now down to their third, potentially fourth, quarterback for Thursday’s game. he can safely be left on fantasy benches on the short week.

Zach Charbonnet (knee) and Jadarian Price (chest) are active for Week 8 against the Bears.

Charbonnet makes his season debut after a suffering a torn ACL late in the 2025 season while Price returns from short-term injure reserve due to a chest injury. Emmanuel Wilson and George Holani had held down the backfield in the absence of the two top backs, leaving an uncertain situation regarding expected backfield utilization when the Seahawks take on the Bears in a marquee matchup. Inactive for the Seahawks are QB Drew Lock, LB Uchenna Nwosu, WR Rashid Shaheed, RB Velus Jones Jr., OT Charles Cross, G Beau Stephens, and NT Brandon Pili.

Bears declared RB Kyle Monangai, QB Case Keenum, DB Malik Muhammad, OL Jordan McFadden, DL Jayden Loving, and OL Jordan van den Berg inactive for Week 8 against the Seahawks.

No real surprises here after Monangai was ruled out for Week 8 on Saturday, leaving D’Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson to handle backfield duties in a difficult matchup against the Seahawks. The two had operated in a loosely split backfield before Week 7, during which Swift saw workhorse usage in a tight game against the Patriots. It would appear likely that Swift will once again see the bulk of the work considering the opponent, making him a surefire RB2 with RB1 upside to cap the Week 8 festivities.

Jesse Minter said the team is considering injured reserve for Tyler Loop (undisclosed).

Loop suffered an undisclosed injury in the Week 8 loss to the Bills, something that is reportedly serious enough to warrant injured reserve consideration. When asked if Jake Moody would be kicking on Thursday Night Football against the Jaguars, Minter replied with a simple, “At this point, yes.” The Ravens were dealt numerous injury issues in their loss to the Bills as they lost both Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley, with third string rookie Joe Fagnano also emerging dinged up after taking numerous hard sacks.

Jesse Minter said Joe Fagnano (ankle) is “dealing with some things physically” but has a chance to start in Week 9.

Whelp, that isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement for the rookie quarterback’s chances of starting under center for the Ravens when they host the Jaguars on Thursday Night Football to kick off Week 9. The team lost both Lamar Jackson to a season-ending thumb injury and backup Tyler Huntley to a turf toe injury in their Week 8 loss to the Bills, now in desperate need of a viable quarterback option as they fight for their playoff lives. It is possible the team addresses the position through trade with just over a week until the trade deadline, although that is unlikely to help them on a short week. More to come in what quickly became a dire situation in Baltimore. Fagnano was officially listed as limited on the team’s estimated practice report Monday.

Jim Harbaugh said the team will open the 21-day practice window for David Njoku this week.

Njoku has been on the shelf since being placed on injured reserve ahead of Week 3, with the potential to return following five missed games plus the team’s Week 7 bye. The team will have 21 days to activate him from short-term injured reserve, meaning Njoku is not guaranteed to be activated in time for Week 9 against the Texans. Fantasy managers that have held Njoku through his time on injured reserve can continue patiently waiting for his return while those in shallower leagues can consider adding him from waivers before he is activated.
