TE Notes: Travis Kelce is good, every other tight end is bad. … The good Lord Reebs hit on one of my favorite themes. Darren Waller is the clear-cut TE2 overall … and he’s cleared 50 yards three times. What a world. At least he has the Jets for Week 13. … T.J. Hockenson has displayed similarly little upside. He has had the decency to offer some floor, reaching 50 yards in 7-of-11 contests. For whatever reason, the Bears hand out the third most TE fantasy points. … Dallas Goedert has come alive the past two weeks. His Week 13 problem is the potential return of Zach Ertz (ankle) to the Eagles’ ever-more crowded offense. If Ertz can’t go, I may bump Goedert up to TE2 or 3. If Ertz plays, the fade won’t be that significant at this wretched position. … If Mark Andrews (coronavirus) gets cleared, he will slot in as the TE2 or 3 against the Cowboys’ non-threatening defense.

Hunter Henry is finally providing some actual production, finishing as the TE4 by total half PPR points over the past three weeks and TE6 by average. The Patriots are tough up the seam. We have to bet on Henry’s 4/40 floor holding tough. … Astoundingly, Evan Engram has reached nine targets in 4-of-5 games. His Week 13 bad news is that Colt McCoy will be under center. McCoy will undoubtedly be checking down to his tight end, though the Seahawks have been tougher up the seam than on the boundary. … There is where we start to play the guessing game. Out of Kendall Hinton jail, I will bet on Noah Fant stacking up targets and hopefully getting some red zone opportunities as the Broncos have to throw all day to keep up with the Chiefs. … Hayden Hurst has displayed zero ceiling. He compensates by drawing 7-8 looks most weeks. That did not include Week 11, where he zeroed against the Saints. Surely that can’t happen twice in three weeks…

[[ad:athena]]

Eric Ebron is the “one last job” getaway driver of TE1s. You do what you gotta do. … The healthier the Packers get at wide receiver, the more Robert Tonyan has produced in recent weeks. He has a zero-point baseline. Big plays and touchdowns keep him in the TE1 mix. … Jordan Reed has drawn six targets in back-to-back performances. The Bills are coughing up the fourth most TE fantasy points. … Even if Adam Thielen (COVID-19) returns, Kyle Rudolph will once again be positioned to soak up 6-8 targets if Irv Smith (back, groin) misses another contest. The Jags are as bad as it gets at every level of the defense. … Austin Hooper and Dalton Schultz are both empty compilers who have decent matchups. … The Athletic’s Texans reporter Aaron Reiss posits that Jordan Akins will likely be running more slot routes following the Texans’ wide receiver apocalypse. The theory passes the smell test. The Colts aren’t a great spot for it to be tested, though.
