Antonacci finds himself in the leadoff spot for the first time since being called up back on April 15. The 23-year-old rookie’s contact-oriented approach seems tailor-made for a top-of-the-order role moving forward. He’s slashing an impressive .255/.361/.431 with one homer and nearly as many walks (five) as strikeouts (six) through 17 games. The move to the top of the order behind Chicago’s biggest run-producing threats is a significant lift to his fantasy appeal.
  • HOU Catcher #21
It’s a bit unclear whether Diaz will require a trip to the injured list, but the fact that the Astros have brought up César Salazar from the minors seems to indicate that he’s not going to be available off the bench, even in an emergency. There should be an update on his status following the contest. It’ll be Christian Vázquez handling the catching duties in his absence.
  • BOS Left Fielder #19
Anthony left the contest after an awkward swing in his first at-bat, appearing to be in clear discomfort. The 21-year-old will undergo imaging to determine whether there’s any structural damage. The primary concern is a potential hamate fracture given the location in the wrist area and the non-contact nature of the injury. There should be greater clarity on his status ahead of Tuesday’s contest.
  • SF 1st Baseman #8
It’s official. Eldridge is at DH and hitting seventh in his season debut against the division-rival Padres on Monday night at Oracle Park. The power-hitting 21-year-old top prospect struggled in his first taste of the big leagues last year, but he’s one of the most intriguing potential middle-of-the-order impact hitters to come through the minors in a few years. He’ll need to prove he can make enough contact and get to his immense raw power frequently enough to matter for fantasy purposes. He’s more of a deep-league lottery ticket at the moment, but he’s the type of elite talent that could make a leap very quickly if everything comes together for him.
  • BAL 3rd Baseman #11
Not good. It’s an extremely concerning development after Westburg opted to go the rest and rehabilitation route instead of undergoing Tommy John surgery. The 27-year-old infielder will be shut down temporarily following this latest setback before being reevaluated to determine his next steps. The big issue here is that season-ending surgery could become unavoidable if he’s unable to resume throwing without discomfort.
  • PHI Relief Pitcher #59
Duran will return to solidify the back-end of Philadelphia’s bullpen after missing just over two weeks with a left oblique strain. The electrifying 28-year-old stopper was off to a brilliant start this season with a microscopic 1.35 ERA across 6 2/3 innings of work. Fantasy managers should make sure to get him back in lineups this week.
  • MIL 2nd Baseman #2
Turang is back at second base and hitting third following a one-game absence over the weekend due to illness. The 26-year-old has been outstanding this season, slashing .291/.428/.491 with 27 runs scored, four homers, 20 RBI and seven steals across 30 games. He’s walked 27 times and his .428 on-base percentage is tops in the entire National League. He should see a boost in the counting stats departments with superstar Jackson Chourio finally back after missing nearly six weeks with a hand injury to open the season.
  • SEA Catcher #29
Seattle handled the Raleigh situation with extreme caution over the weekend, holding him out of two games due to right-side tightness. He could still require a trip to the injured list, but no move has been made yet. The 29-year-old slugging backstop underwent an MRI that should clarify the severity of the issue and whether additional time off will be necessary. A clearer update on his status is expected before Monday’s series opener at T-Mobile Park.
  • TOR Right Fielder #4
Blue Jays manager John Schneider delivered a positive update that Springer is likely to be available off the bench on Monday night and will hopefully be ready for Tuesday’s showdown. The 36-year-old veteran outfielder somehow managed to avoid serious injury when he fouled a ball off the same left toe that he fractured a couple weeks earlier. It sounds like there’s a strong possibility he’s ready to come off the bench, if needed, and return to the lineup this week. Daulton Varsho is at DH with Myles Straw patrolling center field on Monday night.
  • KC Relief Pitcher #53
The proverbial million dollar question is whether Estévez has a shot at reclaiming Kansas City’s closer role from Lucas Erceg, who has converted nine of 11 save opportunities this season. The 33-year-old hit the shelf with a foot contusion, after several weeks of diminished fastball velocity, back in early April. It’ll be fascinating to see if his fastball is back to last year’s levels during his rehab assignment.
