Player Overview
2023: Last season was a down season by Kelce’s standards, but that didn’t stop him from finishing as the TE1 in points per game (14.8) for the second straight season and the fifth time in the last six years. If not for two missed games, Kelce would have surpassed the 1,000-yard mark, but he still finished with a solid line of 93-984-5. He averaged a career-low 10.6 YPR, but dominated with a 23% target share. He was one of just six tight ends to total 200-plus PPR points last season.
What’s changed: After two seasons of barely passable wide receiver play, the Chiefs went out and added free agent Marquise Brown and Texas’ Xavier Worthy with the No. 28 pick in this year’s draft. They make for a solid duo alongside Rashee Rice and Kelce, and should bolster a vertical passing game that’s been lacking post-Tyreek Hill.
Outlook: Kelce will turn 35 in October and he is coming off one of his least efficient seasons despite solid counting numbers. Still, he benefits from playing with the best quarterback in the league and he has Andy Reid calling the plays. While he’s not the lock he used to be to finish as the overall TE1, he remains a high-end option across all scoring formats.
