Player Overview

2023: All four of McLaurin’s past four seasons have been pretty much the same, around 1,000 yards and a handful of scores on 70-80 catches. Last year was no different in the massively pass-heavy Washington offense, and McLaurin was fantasy’s WR32. His 21% target share was worryingly low since the Commanders had little target competition. Suspect quarterback play once again doomed McLaurin to WR3 status in fantasy.

What’s changed: Former Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury was named Washington’s offensive coordinator and Dan Quinn took over as head coach. The Commanders took QB Jayden Daniels in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Outlook: The Commanders under Kingsbury are likely to lose a heaping of passing volume in what could be a run-first offense. McLaurin might be able to counter that volume loss with more quality downfield targets from Daniels, who specialized in the deep ball during his final season at LSU. Unless he sees far more intermediate looks in the new Commanders offense, McLaurin is going to be a somewhat volatile fantasy option in 2024.
