Player Overview
2023: By every metric the nerds have invented, Waddle had an elite 2023 season. He ranked sixth in the NFL in yards per route run (2.6) and 14th in yards per target (9.8). Waddle’s downfall came from a lack of touchdowns and, in turn, surprisingly few spike weeks. He scored four times and topped 20 PPR points just twice. Waddle also missed three games because of injuries.
What's changed: The biggest change for Waddle should be his touchdown production. In 2023, Tua Tagovailoa threw for the fifth-most touchdowns and Waddle was one of the most efficient yardage producers in the league. Despite this, Waddle ranked 62nd in touchdown rate among receivers with at least 30 targets. Even if Tyreek Hill remains the team’s top touchdown producer, Waddle should score more than four times in 2024.
Outlook: Waddle is the perfect rebound candidate. He was again a top-tier talent but ran cold on the flukiest fantasy stat. With a few more touchdowns and a clean bill of health, Waddle should return to his high-end WR2 status this year.
