2023: After churning out elite fantasy campaigns for half a decade, the 2023 season gave Adams his greatest challenge yet: Aidan O’Connell, Jimmy Garoppolo and even Brian Hoyer throwing him the ball. Though Adams escaped with a low-end WR1 season, his stats fell across the board. He failed to hit double-digit touchdowns for the second time since 2015 and he also fell below two yards per route run for the first time since 2017. 

What's changed: The Raiders parted ways with Garoppolo after the season and added Gardner Minshew on a two-year deal. Minshew doesn’t offer much ceiling as a passer, but he brings a far higher floor than the mess Las Vegas trotted out in 2023. The Raiders added Brock Bowers, a phenom-level tight end prospect from Georgia, with the No. 13 overall pick in the draft.

Outlook: Adams is set to turn 32 this season and he is coming off his worst campaign in ages. There is some risk that he is no longer a superstar-caliber talent. On the other hand, even a slightly depleted Adams is a great receiver and he is getting a quarterback upgrade in Minshew. The top-five fantasy days may be over, but Adams hanging onto his WR1 status for one more year would surprise no one.
