Player Overview
2023: Watson’s second NFL season was once again derailed by soft tissue injuries. He missed eight games with a hamstring injury and caught 28 of 53 targets for 422 yards and five touchdowns; he now has a dozen scores on just 69 NFL receptions. Watson’s average depth of target somehow increased last season, from 14.2 in 2022 to 16.3 in 2023. The downfield burner caught five of 17 deep targets for 195 yards and two touchdowns. The Packers offense was more dynamic with Watson fully healthy.
What’s changed: The big news of Watson’s offseason was his work with a special lab in Wisconsin dedicated to finding the source of hamstring injuries.
Outlook: Watson found this spring that an asymmetrical stride had been at the root of his constant hamstring woes, and he’s worked tirelessly to address the issue. A full season for Watson – who has missed a dozen games in his two pro seasons – would make him a potential major fantasy value and give Jordan Love one of the league’s most dangerous deep threats. He should remain a boom-bust player with his booms winning weeks for fantasy managers.
