Player Overview
2023: The No 4 overall pick, Richardson managed to play one full game over five weeks before sustaining a season-ending shoulder injury. The mobile Richardson took wicked shots from defenders throughout his short stint as Indy’s starter and the team paid the price. Richardson managed 125 rushing yards and four touchdowns even while missing parts of games over the season’s first month. He was fine as a passer, throwing three touchdowns to one interception while completing 60 percent of his throws.
What’s changed: Richardson, after shoulder surgery and months of rehab, is reportedly at full strength going into the summer. Look for the Colts to manage Richardson’s throwing before the regular season, and perhaps even during the season.
Outlook: Richardson’s rushing ability and his role as a tough-to-stop red zone threat means he enters 2024 with as much statistical upside as any quarterback in fantasy. The Colts drafting Texas WR A.D. Mitchell should give the rocket-armed Richardson another explosive downfield threat. The only question is whether Richardson can stay upright and healthy. If he does, he has a chance to break fantasy football like elite rushing QBs before him.
