Reece Beekman, Trendon Watford, Jalen Wilson, Ziaire Williams and Nic Claxton will start against the Pelicans on Tuesday.
Wilson will replace Keon Johnson in the starting lineup, with Johnson getting a rest night. Claxton is back and will immediately return to his typical spot in the starting lineup, which will push Drew Timme to a reserve role.

Kristaps Porziņģis (illness) said during an interview on Monday that he feels “great” after struggling with illness during this past spring’s playoffs.
Porziņģis was sidelined by an illness late in the regular season and never seemed to get back on track physically. The 7-foot-2 forward/center struggled with fatigue, which limited his playing time as the Celtics were ultimately eliminated in the second round. Traded to the Hawks just before the draft, Porziņģis said he did not do much during June, and the time off has been beneficial. Porziņģis is preparing to represent Latvia at FIBA EuroBasket, which begins in late August. A healthy Porziņģis can be an excellent fantasy asset next season, playing off of Trae Young and sharing the frontcourt with Jalen Johnson and Onyeka Okongwu. However, his medical history will likely impact his value in fantasy drafts.
Lakers' 'high-end talent' warrants a look in West
Jay Croucher dives into Lakers futures after the acquisition of Marcus Smart and Deandre Ayton, sharing why the team's "high-end talent" warrants upside as a longshot to win the West.
  • LAL Small Forward
Armel Traoré has agreed to a two-year deal with French club ASVEL.
After playing multiple professional seasons in France, Traoré agreed to a two-way deal with the Lakers last June. He only appeared in nine games last season, averaging 1.6 points and 1.7 rebounds in 7.4 minutes. Traoré stands to take on a more prominent role with ASVEL than he would have enjoyed with any NBA team in 2025-26.
  • FA Small Forward #23
    Clippers waived Patrick Baldwin Jr.
Waived by the Spurs in February, Baldwin agreed to a two-way contract with the Clippers on March 1. The former first-round pick only appeared in two regular-season games for the Clippers but featured on the team’s summer league squad. Unfortunately for Baldwin, the Clippers’ need to free up a two-way contract for Jordan Miller resulted in his being waived. Law Murray of The Athletic reported on Sunday that the Clippers have interest in bringing Baldwin back on an Exhibit 10 contract if he clears waivers.
  • BKN Shooting Guard #24
NBA insider Jake Fischer reports the Nets have been “hesitant” to offer restricted free agent Cam Thomas a long-term deal.
With Thomas being a restricted free agent and most teams lacking the cap space needed to produce an offer sheet that the Nets would not match, the franchise holds all the leverage in the negotiations. According to Fischer, “the Nets’ offers to date have not exceeded two-year proposals featuring an annual average value in the range of the league’s $14.1 million non-taxpayer midlevel exception.” And those offers include a team option for the second season. Thomas can continue to play the “waiting game” in hopes of landing a more lucrative proposal from the Nets, and there’s also the possibility of accepting his qualifying offer, which would make him an unrestricted free agent next summer. Given Brooklyn’s lack of proven scorers, sticking around could boost his fantasy value, especially in points leagues.
  • FA Center #11
    Raptors waived Colin Castleton.
Castleton’s contract for the 2025-26 season was non-guaranteed, putting him at risk of being waived before training camps open in September. Between Memphis, Toronto and Philadelphia, the 6-foot-10 center appeared in 26 games last season, averaging 4.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 16.6 minutes. Orlando holds Castleton’s G League rights, and the Magic have an open two-way contract slot if they decide to take a flier on the big man.
  • CHI Shooting Guard #3
Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports the Bulls and restricted free agent Josh Giddey are $8-10 million apart in their negotiations.
Giddey is one of the notable restricted free agents who has been unable to negotiate a deal this offseason. While the point guard and the Bulls are mutually interested in continuing their partnership after a solid 2024-25 season, the money remains a sticking point. According to Cowley, Giddey’s camp went into last season hoping for a deal on par with the one Jalen Suggs received from the Magic, playing an average annual salary of $30 million. The Bulls took a more cautious approach, possibly impacted by Patrick Williams’ disappointing play after receiving a surprising extension worth $90 million. Giddey can sign his qualifying offer worth $11 million, which would allow him to go into unrestricted free agency next summer, but that may be viewed as a “last resort.” Staying in Chicago would be best for Giddey’s fantasy value after finishing last season as a top-60 player in nine-cat formats.
  • CHI Head Coach
ESPN’s Shams Charania reports the Bulls signed head coach Billy Donovan to a multi-year contract extension.
Despite Chicago’s recent lack of on-court success, Charania reports that Donovan — who’s gone 195–205 over the last five seasons — is still viewed as a respected leader within the organization. He’ll remain in the Windy City for the foreseeable future as the Bulls embark on a long-term rebuild following the departures of cornerstones DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine.
  • HOU Point Guard #20
NBA insider Chris B. Haynes reports that free agent guard JD Davison has signed a deal with the Houston Rockets.
Davison appeared in just 36 games for the Celtics across his first three NBA seasons, but he most recently won G League MVP. Houston’s rotation is one of the deepest in the Association, so Davison shouldn’t be expected to see meaningful minutes right away.
  • ORL Small Forward #8
Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports the Magic signed Jamal Cain to a two-way contract.
Cain appeared in 37 games for the Pelicans last season after spending his first two seasons with the Heat organization. On a two-way deal, the 6-foot-6 wing appeared in 37 NBA games in 2024-25, averaging 5.3 points and 2.3 rebounds in 13.6 minutes. Outside of the occasional solid performance as the Pelicans were playing out the string, Cain did not impact fantasy basketball. That’s likely to be the case in Orlando next season.
  • FA Power Forward #21
Adama Sanogo agreed to a deal with Italian club Trapani Shark.
After appearing in 13 games over two seasons with the Bulls, Sanogo was waived in February, one month after suffering a knee injury. Not selected after a standout college career at UConn, the 6-foot-9 center most recently played for the Jazz in summer league competition. He’s headed to Italy for the next chapter of his professional career. Sanogo’s departure from the NBA will not impact fantasy basketball.
