Daniel Gafford amassed 18 points (8-of-13 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), eight rebounds, three assists, and five blocks in 24 minutes in Monday’s 130-108 win over Washington.
Gafford continues to flourish for the Mavericks and fantasy managers. He’s blocked at least three shots in four of his last five outings and recorded one or more in 19 straight. Over the past two weeks, Gafford has provided top-20 per-game value in 8-cat formats. He’s rostered in 84% of Yahoo leagues, and that number is low, given Dallas’ many injuries in the frontcourt. Dereck Lively II, Maxi Kleber, and Dwight Powell are all out, and new signing Kylor Kelley (one point and four rebounds) isn’t going to take minutes away from Gafford.
  • TOR Small Forward #3

Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic said Thursday that Brandon Ingram (ankle) is “not close” to returning to game action.
Ingram, who has not played in a game since December 7, was traded to Toronto at the February deadline and subsequently signed a three-year, $120 million deal. Unfortunately, he isn’t close to being healthy enough to return to game action. According to Rajakovic, Ingram has been limited to light shooting and upper-body work as he recovers from a sprained left ankle. Unless he can be stashed in an IL+ slot, there isn’t much need to roster Ingram in 12-team leagues, mainly since his minutes will likely be limited if he’s cleared to play before the end of the season.
  • CLE Center #31
Jarrett Allen (hand) will undergo an MRI on Saturday.
Allen injured his right hand during Friday’s rout of the Knicks, exiting during the third quarter. X-rays on the hand came back negative, ruling out a fracture, but he’ll undergo an MRI on Saturday. Allen having to miss time would open up a spot in the starting lineup, with Dean Wade being an option to fill the void. He can also be used as a small-ball five in certain matchups, raising Wade’s short-term fantasy ceiling.
  • WAS Power Forward #70
Wizards signed Jalen McDaniels to a 10-day contract.
ESPN’s Shams Charania broke the news on Saturday morning detailing the latest change for the Wizards since their trade-deadline shakeup. McDaniels hasn’t played in an NBA game since 2023-24 and is unlikely to impact an impact for fantasy purposes.
  • SAC Power Forward #11
Domantas Sabonis stuffed the stat sheet on Friday with 14 points (6-of-10 FGs), 14 rebounds, nine assists, one steal and one three-pointer against the Warriors.
Sabonis came close to adding to his triple-double total, but he was still able to provide his usual well-rounded stat line in the loss. Sabonis entered the All-Star break with a monster 28-rebound performance, and while he wasn’t able to replicate that success on the glass, he was still able to recorded his eighth straight double-double. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, that was Sacramento’s final game of the week, and they only play three games next week. The Kings return to the court on Monday with the Hornets in town.
  • GSW Shooting Guard #7
Buddy Hield shot 8-of-11 from the field and 1-of-1 from the foul line in Friday’s win over the Kings, finishing with 22 points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal, and five three-pointers in 26 minutes.
Hield got back on track Friday night after scoring five points on 2-of-14 shooting in Golden State’s final two games before the All-Star break. He only needed 11 shots from the field to notch his highest point total since December 8, when Buddy dropped 27 on the Timberwolves. Throughout his NBA career, Hield has made it known that he views himself as a starter. However, with Warriors coach Steve Kerr saying before the break that Brandin Podziemski will remain in the starting five, Buddy must find a way to make the reserve role work. His fantasy value takes a hit with the lineup change, but Hield can be helpful in category leagues as a three-point specialist.
  • UTA Power Forward #23
Lauri Markkanen was held to just five points (2-of-14 FGs), four rebounds, one assist, one steal and one three-pointer in a 130-107 loss to the Thunder on Friday.
Simply put, Friday night was not a good one for Markkanen. He went into the All-Star break on a high note by scoring 32 points in a win over the Lakers last week and scoring another 20 points against the Clippers 24 hours after that, but he was abysmal on Friday. This was a new season-low for points for Markkanen, and it was only the fourth time that he scored less than 10 points. On top of that, Markkanen may sit out against the Rockets on Saturday, since it is the second night of a back-to-back.
  • GSW Shooting Guard #2
Brandin Podziemski logged 30 minutes in Friday’s win over the Kings, scoring 21 points (9-of-20 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs) with three rebounds, five assists, one steal, and two three-pointers.
Podziemski has scored 20 points or more on three occasions since his January 23 return from an abdominal injury that sidelined him for 12 games. Rostered in 64 percent of Yahoo! leagues, the second-year guard has provided top-100 fantasy value in eight- and nine-cat formats over the past month. This stretch of improved productivity began before the Warriors acquired Jimmy Butler. Still, Podziemski has attempted at least nine shots in all five games Golden State has played since the six-time All-Star arrived in San Francisco.
  • UTA Center #24
Walker Kessler dominated the glass Friday and finished with four points (2-of-4 FGs), 19 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block against the Thunder.
Kessler didn’t do much scoring in Friday’s loss, but he controlled the glass. His 19 rebounds were the second-most that he has had in a game this season. He had 22 in a loss to the Suns just two weeks before this game. Kessler shouldn’t be this limited offensively often, but managers aren’t relying on him to be a dominant scorer. Kessler hasn’t played both legs of a back-to-back since early January, so managers should keep an eye on the injury report ahead of Saturday’s game against the Rockets.
  • GSW Small Forward #4
Moses Moody accounted for 22 points (8-of-11 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), two rebounds, four assists, one block, and five three-pointers in 29 minutes in Friday’s win over the Kings.
A double-digit scorer in six of his last seven appearances before the All-Star break, Moody had his most productive night of the season on Friday. Matching his season-high with five three-pointers, the Warriors forward surpassed the 20-point mark for the first time. Rostered in six percent of Yahoo leagues, Moody has been an 11th-round player in nine-cat formats since Jimmy Butler made his Warriors debut on February 8. While he still hasn’t reached the point where he’s a safe waiver wire pickup, Moody is worth tracking, especially if he remains in the starting lineup.
  • UTA Power Forward #20
John Collins led the Jazz on Friday with 26 points (11-of-19 FGs, 3-of-7 FTs), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one three-pointer against the Thunder.
The main issue for Collins this season has been availability, especially over the past two months. However, he was able to have his highest-scoring game since mid-November on Friday. Unfortunately, he had an uncharacteristically poor night from the free throw line, and he wasn’t able to supply his usual dose of rebounds. This was the first time since early December that Collins failed to secure at least five rebounds. Utah wraps up the week against the Rockets on Saturday, and there is certainly a chance that Collins is given the night off to help the Jazz improve their lottery odds.
