Jarace Walker amassed eight points (3-of-5 FGs), 12 rebounds, two assists, two steals, one blocked shot, and two 3-pointers in 22 minutes in Sunday’s win over Cleveland.
On most nights, coming off the bench puts Walker in a position where he struggles to offer tangible fantasy value. That wasn’t the case on Sunday, as the second-year forward grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds and recorded two steals and one blocked shot. Concerning the rebounds, this was Walker’s first game hitting double figures in that category. He still isn’t at the point where fantasy managers should rush to roster him, but Walker is worth watching with his long-term future in mind.

Darius Garland led the Cavaliers with 20 points (7-of-10 FGs), two rebounds, nine assists, one block and one 3-pointer in a 134-114 loss to the Thunder on Thursday.
In a rematch between the top two teams in the league, Garland was the only played that rose to the occasion for Cleveland. He only played 24 minutes because of the lopsided score, but he was able to have a solid, efficient night. This was his fourth straight game with at least 20 points and seven assists, and he will look to keep that streak going in Minnesota on Saturday to close out the week. Garland will certainly be in the conversation to be an All-Star next month, and he showed why in this game, even if he was limited by the blowout.
  • IND Point Guard #0
Tyrese Haliburton returned to the lineup on Thursday and contributed 17 points (7-of-15 FGs), four rebounds, eight assists, one steal and two 3-pointers against the Pistons.
After a one-game absence with a groin issue, Haliburton was back in the lineup for this game. He didn’t have a spectacular game, but it was a positive development to have him back out on the floor so quickly. Hopefully they didn’t rush him back, but don’t be surprised if he ends up back on the injury report moving forward. Andrew Nembhard (12/4/6/3) and T.J. McConnell (2/5/5/1/1) were signed as excellent streaming options with Haliburton sidelined, but they were still able to have decent nights with Haliburton back.
  • IND Small Forward #23
Aaron Nesmith returned to the lineup on Thursday and contributed nine points (3-of-4 FGs), one rebound and two 3-pointers against Detroit.
The expectation was that Nesmith would be on a minutes restriction in his first game since November 1st. However, logging nine minutes as a starter and calling it a night was surprising. He was productive in his limited role, but that isn’t enough time to impact fantasy basketball. Jarace Walker started the second half in his place and contributed eight points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in 22 minutes. Nesmith should play a larger role against the 76ers on Saturday, though it isn’t clear how many minutes he’ll actually see.
  • DET Point Guard #2
Cade Cunningham finished with 20 points (7-of-21 FGs), four rebounds, nine assists, one block, one 3-pointer and seven turnovers against Indiana on Thursday.
Cunningham had been on a tear entering this game, but this simply wasn’t a great night for him. He still came close to recording another double-double, but his lack of efficiency really hurt them in the loss. It says a lot about him as a player that a 20/4/9 line is a subpar night for him. He has enjoyed a breakout season that has Detroit on pace to make the postseason for the first time in Cade’s career. He’ll look to get back on track with the Suns coming to town on Saturday to close out the week.
  • PHX Small Forward #0
Ryan Dunn recorded a double-double on Thursday with 18 points (8-of-12 FGs), 11 rebounds, one assist, one block and two 3-pointers against Washington.
Dunn seems to be finding his footing as a starter. He has scored in double figures in four straight games (which is the longest streak of his career) and made at least 50% of his shot attempts in each of those. He also recorded the first double-double of his young career in this one. He’s an elite defender for a rookie, so it’s encouraging that he has been able to make an offensive impact this early in his career. He has been a top-100 player over the past week and will look to keep it going as they close out their week in Detroit on Saturday.
  • WAS Small Forward #18
Kyshawn George led Washington with 24 points (8-of-10 FGs), three rebounds, four assists, one steal and six 3-pointers in a 130-123 loss to Phoenix on Thursday.
The rookie played a large role early on this season, but as the team got healthier, his role was reduced. He hasn’t been very productive lately, but he showed out in this game. He set new career-highs for points and tied his career-high 3-pointers, though it wasn’t enough for them to get a win. George isn’t a player to consider rostering in standard leagues right now, but he could have more performances like this one during silly season. Of course, this performance is exciting for dynasty managers that have him rostered.
  • LAC Shooting Guard #14
Terance Mann (left calf soreness) has been upgraded to available for Thursday’s game against Portland.
Mann will be good to despite exiting early from their game on Wednesday. He played nine minutes before being ruled out in that game, and he hasn’t played a consistent role in recent weeks. He may play a small role off the bench in this one with Kawhi Leonard sidelined.
  • LAC Point Guard #8
The Clippers will start James Harden, Kris Dunn, Norman Powell, Derrick Jones Jr. and Ivica Zubac against the Trail Blazers on Thursday.
Kawhi Leonard is sitting out the second leg of this back-to-back, which will allow Dunn to return to the starting lineup. He was unproductive as a reserve in their last game, but he should be able to provide some steals as a starter.
  • UTA Center #24
Walker Kessler (rest) has been ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Pelicans.
Kessler will get a rest night, which will open up a starting spot at center. Drew Eubanks should slide into that role, and he had eight points, nine rebounds and three blocks in 31 minutes as a starter on Sunday.
  • HOU Power Forward #32
The Rockets will start Amen Thompson, Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, Jeff Green and Alperen Sengun against the Kings on Thursday.
Jeff Green will get the starting nod in place of Fred VanVleet, who is sidelined due to personal reasons. Amen Thompson and Alperen Sengun will likely take over playmaking duties, and while Green will likely see extra minutes, he is a risky streaming option.
