CJ McCollum logged 39 minutes in Sunday’s 132-129 overtime loss to the Nuggets, finishing with 24 points (8-of-21 FGs, 4-of-6 FTs), six rebounds, nine assists, one steal, one block, and four 3-pointers.
From a playmaking standpoint, Sunday’s performance was McCollum’s best of the season. He dished out a season-high nine assists while committing two turnovers, with the former number more than double his season average (4.2 apg). McCollum’s fantasy ceiling has been limited due partially to the inconsistent assist production, but the floor is relatively safe. More nights like Sunday can help change that. The Pelicans are off until Thursday and only play two games in Week 9.

Nikola Vucevic had 17 points (6-of-14 FGs), 11 rebounds, seven assists, three steals, one block and one 3-pointer against the Trail Blazers on Sunday.
Vucevic followed up his 40-point game Friday with another strong effort. The 34-year-old center recorded a double-double and was just three assists shy of a triple-double. Vooch also added three steals and a block on the defensive end. He just continues to produce at a high level, though we would caution that he’s more of a top-50 player than a top-20 player in terms of fantasy value.
  • CHI Shooting Guard #8
Zach LaVine had 27 points (10-of-21 FGs), four rebounds, five assists, two steals, one block and two 3-pointers against the Trail Blazers on Sunday.
LaVine has had at least 25 points in eight of 10 games so far in January. He bounced back with a 27-point effort here after scoring only 19 in his last game. The 29-year-old shooting guard is playing at a high level, though his availability needs to be monitored as he’s playing through right patella tendinitis. The Bulls have three games in the upcoming week, starting with the Clippers on Monday.
