LaMelo Ball led Charlotte with 34 points (11-of-32 FGs, 9-of-10 FTs), four rebounds, 13 assists, four steals and three 3-pointers in a 123-114 loss to Washington on Thursday.
Prior to his seven-game absence with a calf strain, Ball had been incredibly aggressive on the offensive end. He took at least 30 shots in three straight games before the injury, and while he only took 15 shots in 26 minutes in his first game back, he got back over the 30-shot mark in this game. Ball is the focal point of the offense regardless, but with Brandon Miller sidelined, LaMelo’s responsibility will only be larger. Efficiency has never been a strong point for him, which will hold true if he continues to take 30 shots every game. However, he only turned it over once in this one, which was impressive to see.
