Tre Jones (left shoulder sprain) is expected to miss “a few weeks”.
Jones is set to miss his second straight game on Thursday, and it may end up being a lot longer than that. He isn’t a player that makes much of an impact in fantasy basketball, but Stephon Castle will continue to be the secondary playmaking option alongside Chris Paul.
  • POR Center #35

Robert Williams (return to competition conditioning) amassed eight points (4-of-4 FGs), three rebounds, and one assist in 17 minutes in Sunday’s loss to Phoenix.
  • POR Small Forward #8
Deni Avdija accounted for 17 points (6-of-9 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), seven rebounds, three assists, and three 3-pointers in 28 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Suns.
  • POR Shooting Guard #1
Anfernee Simons shot 7-of-15 from the field and 2-of-2 from the foul line in Sunday’s loss to the Suns, scoring 20 points with four rebounds, five assists, two steals, and four 3-pointers in 37 minutes.
  • POR Power Forward #9
Jerami Grant played 36 minutes in Sunday’s 116-109 loss to Phoenix, scoring 17 points (6-of-16 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs) with six rebounds, three assists, two steals, and four 3-pointers.
  • PHX Point Guard #21
Tyus Jones shot 8-of-9 from the field in Sunday’s win over Portland, putting up 19 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three 3-pointers in 32 minutes.
  • PHX Center #20
Jusuf Nurkic recorded a stat line of 10 points (4-of-9 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), 14 rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one blocked shot in 26 minutes in Sunday’s win over Portland.
  • PHX Small Forward #35
Kevin Durant shot 9-of-23 from the field and 1-of-2 from the foul line in Sunday’s win over Portland, accumulating 20 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and one 3-pointer in 36 minutes.
  • PHX Shooting Guard #1
Devin Booker tallied 28 points (7-of-14 FGs, 10-of-12 FTs), three rebounds, five assists, one steal, and four 3-pointers in 37 minutes in Sunday’s 116-109 win over Portland.
Booker’s offensive production has been more consistent recently, with the Suns guard scoring 25 points or more in nine of his last ten outings. Over the past three weeks, he has provided top 15 per-game value in 8- and 9-cat formats. That’s slightly higher than Booker’s season-long value, and he’s proven to be an excellent asset for fantasy managers. Phoenix plays two games in Week 8, beginning with the Pacers on Thursday.
  • SAS Power Forward #1
Victor Wembanyama had 20 points (8-of-20 FGs), 12 rebounds, five assists, seven blocks and one 3-pointer against the Timberwolves on Sunday.
Wembanyama isn’t dominating, but continues to have good games as he works his way back from a back injury. The 20-year-old power forward is the only player in the NBA that can effortlessly put up seven blocks in a game. He’s so productive across the board that it’s hard to poke holes in his game. Wemby made 8-of-20 shots from the field, but that was weighed down by only making 1-of-7 3-point attempts. When he starts making his threes, he’ll be one of the top players in fantasy if he isn’t already.
  • DET Shooting Guard #17
The Pistons announced Sunday that they have signed Javante McCoy to a contract.
McCoy was signed by the Pistons to an Exhibit 10 contract just before the start of training camp. He has since played for the franchise’s G League affiliate, the Motor City Cruise, averaging 14.7 points and 4.4 rebounds in 12 appearances. This transaction won’t impact fantasy basketball, but it does get the Pistons above the salary floor after they waived Paul Reed on Saturday.
