Scottie Barnes (right orbital fracture) will make his return against the Timberwolves on Thursday.
Barnes will be back after an 11-game absence, which is great news for the managers that drafted him early. Ochai Agbaji has been part of the starting unit, but he will likely be pushed to the bench, with RJ Barrett also taking a usage hit.

Nikola Jokic recorded a double-double on Wednesday with 11 points (3-of-4 FGs), 10 rebounds and seven assists in a 98-64 win over Estonia.
In typical Jokic fashion, he only took four shots during his 23 minutes because of how lopsided the score was; he isn’t one to force shots when he doesn’t need to. Jokic will continue to be the star of the show throughout EuroBasket, which should lead to better performances in the box score, assuming Serbia’s future games are closer.

Kurt Helin breaks down the NBA games you must tune into as hardwood action returns to NBC and makes its debut on Peacock for the 2025-26 season.
  • MIA Small Forward #5
Nikola Jovic led Serbia with 18 points (6-of-8 FGs), four rebounds, six assists, one steal and three three-pointers against Estonia on Wednesday.
Jovic only needed 16 minutes to dominate Estonia in Serbia’s EuroBasket opener. They outscored Estonia by 36 points during Jovic’s short stint on the floor, and he’ll continue to play a critical role for them throughout the tournament. Jovic is set to enter his fourth season with the Heat and could be in for a breakout season.
  • UTA Power Forward #23
Lauri Markkanen led Finland with 28 points (7-of-15 FGs, 12-of-14 FTs), six rebounds, three assists, two steals and two three-pointers in a 93-90 win over Sweden.
Markkanen was matched by Sweden’s Ludvig Hakanson with 28 points, but Finland ended up getting the win. Markkanen has been able to carry the offensive load for Finland in recent years, and that should continue for the rest of EuroBasket as he prepares to be the focal point of the offense in Utah once again.
  • HOU Center #28
Alperen Sengun stuffed the stat sheet on Wednesday with 16 points (7-of-12 FGs), eight rebounds, seven assists, one steal, one block and five turnovers in a 93-73 win over Latvia.
Sengun helped Turkey get the victory in their first game of EuroBasket, and he did a little bit of everything on both ends of the floor, nearly recording a triple-double. Cedi Osman, who last played in the NBA during the 2023-24 season, led the team in scoring at 20 points, but Sengun was the star of the show and will continue to fill that role throughout the tournament.
  • ATL Power Forward #8
Kristaps Porzingis struggled on Wednesday and finished with 10 points (3-of-12 FGs), four rebounds, one assist, one steal and six turnovers in a 93-73 loss to Turkey.
Porzingis looked good in the scrimmages leading up to EuroBasket, but he struggled in Latvia’s first game of the tournament. He had more turnovers than missed shots and missed all five of his attempts from deep. They’ll need him to be better to bounce back in their next game.
  • SAC Point Guard #17
Dennis Schroder finished with 21 points (7-of-13 FGs), two rebounds and four assists against Montenegro on Wednesday.
Schroder always steps up his performance when playing internationally, which helped Germany win the FIBA World Cup in 2023. He’s off to a strong start this summer after he signed a three-year deal with the Kings in July, and he’ll look to carry this success into a starting role with Sacramento this upcoming season.
  • ORL Small Forward #22
Franz Wagner led Germany with 22 points (8-of-15 FGs), eight rebounds, one assist and two steals in a 106-76 win over Montenegro.
Wagner turned in a strong performance to help Germany, who went undefeated at the FIBA World Cup in 2023, start off Eurobasket with a monster victory. Wagner should be in for a big season with the Magic, and it’s good to see him playing well this summer. Germany is one of the favorites to win the tournament, and more performances like this from Wagner will help make that happen.
  • CHI Center #9
Nikola Vucevic led Montenegro with 23 points (10-of-13 FGs, 1-of-4 FTs), 10 rebounds, five assists and two three-pointers in a 106-76 loss to Germany on Wednesday.
Vucevic will continue to be the star for Montenegro, but he doesn’t have much help, which is why the team was on the wrong end of a lopsided score. Aside from the uncharacteristic poor performance at the free throw line, this was a monster performance from Vucevic. Expect more games like this from him for the rest of Eurobasket.
  • ATL Point Guard #27
Vit Krejci led Czechia with 10 points (2-of-8 FGs), four rebounds, three assists, one block and one three-pointer in a 62-50 loss to Portugal on Wednesday.
Krejci is the lone NBA player on Czechia’s team, and he was the leading scorer, but this wasn’t a dominant performance for him. Krejci will continue to carry the offensive load for them throughout Eurobasket, but it won’t change his status as a reserve in Atlanta next season.
  • BOS Center #88
Neemias Queta led Portugal with 23 points (11-of-15 FGs), 18 rebounds, one assist, two steals, four blocks and one three-pointer in a 62-50 win over Czechia on Wednesday.
Queta, who underwent knee surgery in May, appears to be healthy and ready to compete for the starting center spot in Boston. If this Eurobasket performance is an indicator, Queta will certainly have a case to be part of the opening group for the Celtics. Managers shouldn’t expect this level of production to carry over to the NBA, but he will be worth a late-round pick if he gets the starting gig.
