  • DAL Point Guard #77

Luka Doncic (right knee contusion) shot 10-of-16 from the field and 3-of-5 from the foul line in Tuesday’s win over New Orleans, scoring 26 points with five rebounds, five assists, three steals, one block, and three 3-pointers in 30 minutes.
Doncic’s return to the Mavericks lineup after a one-game absence went about as well as he and the team would have hoped. Doncic was efficient offensively, having a better balance of getting his points and moving the ball to teammates, and the game was a blowout. Luka might have been done by the end of the third quarter if this had not been an Emirates NBA Cup game (point differential is a tiebreaker). Dallas hits the road for its final two games of Week 5, beginning with the Nuggets on Friday.

Jahmai Mashack finished with 13 points (4-of-9 FGs), one rebound, one assist, three steals, one block and three three-pointers in a 91-90 loss to the 76ers on Tuesday.
Mashack fouled out in his Summer League debut for the Grizzlies just 24 hours before this game. He only committed three fouls on Tuesday, which was a big improvement, since it takes 10 fouls to foul out of a Summer League Game. Mashack is known for his defense, which translated to some steals in this game. However, the deep-range shooting was what really impressed. If he can knock down shots consistently, he could be the latest second-round steal for Memphis.
Magic's bolstered roster could clear 51.5 wins
Vaughn Dalzell and Trysta Krick dive into the Orlando Magic's roster acquisitions and the various futures to consider, highlighted by the win total (51.5).
  • GSW Shooting Guard
Will Richard contributed 12 points (6-of-15 FGs) and five rebounds against the Heat on Tuesday.
Richard didn’t play in Golden State’s first Summer League game but has been a solid source of offense over their last two games. The three-and-D prospect didn’t knock down any triples on Tuesday, but he will certainly knock down shots eventually. He’ll continue to play a large role for them this summer, but the odds of that translating to a role in the rotation during the regular season are slim.
  • GSW Small Forward
Alex Toohey finished with six points (1-of-5 FGs) and six rebounds in a 93-79 loss to the Heat on Tuesday.
Toohey missed the Warriors’ first two Summer League games, so this was the first time he suited up for them since they selected him with the 52nd pick in the draft last month. He didn’t shine in his first game for them, but it was good to see him out on the floor. He’ll get more opportunities to play in Las Vegas.
  • WAS Shooting Guard #14
Blake Wesley has been traded to the Wizards.
Wesley was drafted with the 25th pick in 2022, just a few picks after Malaki Branham. Now, both guards will get a fresh start in Washington, though there may not be many minutes for either guard.
  • WAS Shooting Guard #22
Malaki Branham has been traded to the Wizards as part of a deal that sent Kelly Olynyk to the Spurs.
Branham was drafted with the 20th overall pick in 2022 and has spent his first few years in San Antonio. Now, he’ll get a fresh start. He averaged 10.2 points per game as a rookie, but he’s seen his role decrease in the years since. He’ll likely be a depth guard with upside in Washington.
  • SAS Center #13
ESPN’s Shams Charania reports Kelly Olynyk has been traded to the Spurs in exchange for Malaki Branham, Blake Wesley and a 2026 second-round pick.
Olynyk was traded to Washington just before the draft, and now he’s headed to San Antonio, where he will play some reserve minutes behind Victor Wembanyama. He’ll split time with Luke Kornet, though he will also be able to spend time next to Kornet or Wemby in larger lineups due to his ability to space the floor. This is the third time that Olynyk has been traded since the start of this past season; he opened the year with Toronto and was sent to New Orleans during the season.
  • OKC Center #15
ESPN’s Shams Charania reports Thunder are re-signing Branden Carlson on a new two-way contract.
Carlson spent most of last season with the OKC Blue, and he only appeared in 32 games for the Thunder. He will likely spend most of next year in the G League once again.
  • FA Small Forward #11
NBA Insider Jake Fischer reports Clippers have released Jordan Miller.
Fischer did note that if Miller clears waivers, the Clippers intend to keep him around the organization and have him suit up for their Summer League team. The 2023 second-round pick hasn’t gotten much of an opportunity through his first two seasons in the league, and that likely won’t change next year.
  • PHI Shooting Guard
VJ Edgecombe (thumb) has been ruled out against the Grizzlies on Tuesday.
This will be a second straight absence for Edgecombe, who also missed Monday’s game with the same thumb injury after dropping 28 points on Saturday. He’s still considered “day-to-day,” and the team previously indicated that this isn’t a severe injury. Judah Mintz should get another start.
  • DEN Center #15
The Denver Post’s Bennett Durando reports Nikola Jokic won’t sign an extension with the Nuggets this offseason.
There’s no need to panic and get out the trade machine. Delaying an extension until next summer could allow him to make roughly an extra $80 million. This isn’t Jokic giving Denver an ultimatum to put more talent around him or he’s going to ask out; it’s simply a wise financial decision.
