Lauri Markkanen tallied 18 points (6-of-12 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), 10 rebounds, one assist, one steal, and four 3-pointers in 39 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Clippers.
After falling one rebound short in two of his first three games, Markkanen finally notched his first double-double of the season on Sunday. Back and eye injuries have done him no favors, as the Jazz star heads into Week 5 ranked outside the top 100 in 9-cat per-game value. Utah plays three games next week, beginning with the Lakers on Tuesday.

Brooks Barnhizer finished with nine points (3-of-5 FGs), 13 rebounds, one steal, one block and one three-pointer against the Grizzlies on Saturday.
Barnhizer’s reputation entering the draft was that of a smart, tough player, and the 23-year-old showcased it in his first Summer League game. His dominance on the glass was encouraging to see and shows his hard-nosed playstyle that will be valuable to any team. Barnhizer is unlikely to be part of the Thunder’s rotation next season, but it is still encouraging for his long-term projection to see him play well this summer.
Nuggets make 'mind-blowing' moves in free agency
Trysta Krick and Drew Dinsick run through their winners and losers from NBA free agency after the "dust settled" on an early storm of deals and transactions across the league.
  • OKC Point Guard #25
Ajay Mitchell led the Thunder with 24 points (10-of-18 FGs), one rebound, six assists, one steal and one three-pointer against the Grizzlies on Saturday.
The 2024 second-round pick just played in the NBA Finals a few weeks ago, and that experience was evident in this game; it looked like he was playing a different sport entirely. Mitchell was dominant in this game, and he probably won’t be asked to play many more games during Summer League. He’ll compete for a rotation spot for the defending champions next season.
  • OKC Point Guard #44
Nikola Topic finished with 14 points (6-of-11 FGs), one rebound, four assists, two steals, two three-pointers and seven turnovers in a 92-80 loss to the Grizzlies on Saturday.
Topic tore his ACL before the 2024 draft, so this was his first time suiting up for the Thunder. It wasn’t a flawless performance, but there was a lot to like from what he did. He was impactful on both ends of the floor and was able to get to the rim to score, as well as knock down a pair of triples. The turnovers weren’t pretty, but it was truly just the first steps for a talented 19-year-old that will be just another piece for the reigning champions next season.
  • MEM Point Guard
Javon Small finished with four points (2-of-6 FGs), six assists and one steal against the Thunder on Saturday.
Small was selected with the 48th pick this summer and was able to provide some dimes in his first taste of Summer League action. However, with Ja Morant, Ty Jerome and Scotty Pippen Jr. in front of him in the rotation, it is unlikely that Small is in the rotation next season. Still, it is good to see him play well.
  • MEM Small Forward #45
GG Jackson lit up the Thunder with 20 points (8-of-15 FGs), three rebounds and three three-pointers on Saturday.
Jackson had a strong rookie season but he only was available to play in 29 games in year two. It was a subpar second year, but the 20-year-old is entering his third season in the NBA as a high-level scorer. It isn’t surprising that he is scoring like this in Summer League, and it should continue as long as they choose to include him in the rotation.
  • MEM Small Forward #0
Jaylen Wells posted a strong line on Saturday with 20 points (5-of-14 FGs), four rebounds, three assists, two steals and three three-pointers in a 92-80 win over the Thunder.
Wells suited up for the first time since a scary fall resulted in a fractured wrist and ended Wells’ successful rookie year a few games early. He started most of his rookie season, so it isn’t surprising that he was able to have a strong Summer League performance, even if it wasn’t his best shooting night. Wells will have a strong case to start for Memphis again next season, even after they added Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Ty Jerome and Cedric Coward this summer.
  • FA Power Forward #12
Cole Swider led the Lakers with 24 points (7-of-10 FGs), eight rebounds, one steal and six three-pointers against the Warriors on Saturday.
Swider has been trying to find his place in the NBA since going undrafted in 2022 but hasn’t been able to find a consistent spot. He has played in 35 games across three seasons, most recently with the Raptors, and now he’s looking to earn a roster spot with the Lakers. More performances like this could land him a two-way deal, but he isn’t a player to target in fantasy basketball.
  • FA Power Forward #21
Darius Bazley contributed 10 points (2-of-8 FGs), four rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocks against the Warriors on Saturday.
Bazley last played in the NBA during the 2023-24 season, where he suited up nine times between the 76ers and Jazz. He’s attempting to get back on a roster by playing with the Lakers this summer. He has been a strong category league option in the past, so it’s worth watching to see if he can find a rotation spot somewhere in the NBA next season.
  • LAL Shooting Guard #4
Dalton Knecht struggled on Saturday and finished with 10 points (3-of-13 FGs), four rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in an 89-84 loss to the Warriors on Saturday.
The expectation for NBA rotation players, especially ones that are 24 years old, is that they will dominate Summer League. That wasn’t the case for Knecht in his first game of the summer. The defensive stats were good to see, but he should be dominating as a scorer. There’s no need to panic after one game, but he needs to play better and really prove that he should be in the rotation next year.
  • SAS Small Forward #55
Harrison Ingram contributed three points (1-of-7 FGs), five rebounds, two assists, three steals and one three-pointer in 12 minutes against the Heat on Saturday.
The 2024 second-round pick doesn’t currently have a reported deal in place for next season after spending his rookie year on a two-way deal, but the expectation is that he will remain with the Spurs. He only played in five games during his rookie season and played seven minutes per game in those, but he played well during last year’s Summer League. He struggled offensively in this one, but he should be a better option for them as the summer continues.
