Cade Cunningham (left hip) led the Pistons with 27 points (9-of-26 FGs), seven rebounds, 10 assists, one steal, two triples and five turnovers in a 123-121 overtime loss to Charlotte on Thursday.
Cade was able to put up his typical big numbers, though it did come on a poor shooting night. However, the bigger story here was that he was forced to exit this game just before overtime because of a left hip injury. Cunningham hasn’t missed a game yet this season and has been averaging multiple career-highs. It’s unclear if this is an injury that will keep him sidelined for Saturday’s game in Orlando, but with a four-game week coming up, Cade’s availability is a big factor. Wendell Moore Jr. replaced him in the closing lineup during overtime, and while he would have some streaming appeal if Cunningham is sidelined, Jaden Ivey would also receive a nice boost.
