Scottie Barnes played 37 minutes in Saturday’s loss to the Timberwolves, scoring 20 points (9-of-19 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs) with eight rebounds, six assists, one steal, and one 3-pointer.
Scottie’s had better nights; he finished with as many turnovers as assists (six). Of course, it would help if the Raptors had RJ Barrett (shoulder) and Immanuel Quickley (pelvis) on the court, but it’s unknown when either will be healthy enough to return. Barnes was already shouldering a heavy workload, but those absences put even more on his plate as a playmaker. The Raptors play four games in Week 2, beginning with Denver on Monday night.
