Scottie Barnes played 37 minutes in Saturday’s loss to the Timberwolves, scoring 20 points (9-of-19 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs) with eight rebounds, six assists, one steal, and one 3-pointer.
Scottie’s had better nights; he finished with as many turnovers as assists (six). Of course, it would help if the Raptors had RJ Barrett (shoulder) and Immanuel Quickley (pelvis) on the court, but it’s unknown when either will be healthy enough to return. Barnes was already shouldering a heavy workload, but those absences put even more on his plate as a playmaker. The Raptors play four games in Week 2, beginning with Denver on Monday night.
  • TOR Small Forward #11

Bruce Brown (right knee surgery) and Kelly Olynyk (back stiffness) will remain sidelined for Friday’s game against the Lakers.
Both veterans will miss another game, and it is unclear when they will be back in the mix. Gradey Dick, Ochai Agbaji, Chris Boucher and Jonathan Mogbo should all continue to see extra minutes, with Gradey and Mogbo starting.
  • TOR Shooting Guard #5
Immanuel Quickley (pelvic contusion) is doubtful to play against the Lakers on Friday.
Quickley has missed Toronto’s last four games, which has allowed Davion Mitchell to start at point guard in his place. Mitchell has been an excellent source of assists, with Scottie Barnes’ absence putting the ball in his hands even more. Mitchell should be a fine streaming option once again on Friday
  • MIA Shooting Guard #55
Duncan Robinson and Kevin Love (personal reasons) will not travel with the team to Mexico City for their matchup with the Wizards on Saturday.
Love has yet to play this season, while Robinson has been available to play off the bench in every game. Thomas Bryant will continue to be the backup center, while Robinson’s absence opens the door for Alec Burks to enter the rotation.
  • MEM Shooting Guard #46
John Konchar (right quad contusion) is questionable to play against the Bucks on Thursday.
With Marcus Smart and Desmond Bane sidelined for the second leg of a back-to-back after early exits on Wednesday, Konchar should be in line to start and play a ton of minutes if he is available. If he isn’t, Jake LaRavia, Scotty Pippen Jr. and Jaylen Wells will all take on extended minutes as part of a depleted wing rotation in Memphis.
  • MEM Point Guard #36
Marcus Smart (right ankle) and Desmond Bane (right oblique strain) have been ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Bucks.
Both guards exited early on Wednesday night and will remain out on the second night of a back-to-back. John Konchar, who is questionable with a quad injury, will take on extra minutes if he plays. Guys like Scotty Pippen Jr., Jake LaRavia and rookie Jaylen Wells will also take on larger roles in this game.
  • LAL Shooting Guard #0
The Lakers have declined Jalen Hood-Schifino’s third-year rookie option.
The Lakers are cutting their losses early on this one. They selected JHS just outside the lottery last summer, but he’ll become a free agent after his second season in the league. He had a minimal role as a rookie and has yet to appear in a game this season. We’ll see if another team can give him a chance to thrive.
  • MIL Small Forward #3
The Bucks have declined MarJon Beauchamp’s fourth-year rookie option, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The former first round pick hasn’t gotten much of an opportunity since Doc Rivers took over, and he has only played a few minutes per game this season. It is a bit surprising that they didn’t even want to pay him the $4.8 million option, but he’ll have a chance to sign with a new team this summer that may provide him with a better situation to develop.
  • DET Power Forward #34
Bobi Klintman (left calf contusion/strain) has been “progressing” but still doesn’t have a timetable for his return.
The rookie had some solid moments during Summer League, but he hasn’t been available to make his debut yet because of this injury. When he returns, it is unclear if he’ll have a spot in the rotation, and if he does, it won’t be large enough to impact fantasy basketball.
  • PHI Center #21
Joel Embiid (knee) has completed multiple 5-on-5 practices in recent days, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The former MVP has yet to play a game this season, but this report indicates that he is inching closer to a return. There is still no official timeline, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he was able to make his debut within a couple of weeks. That isn’t the best timeline for fantasy managers that may have felt confused by his lack of availability, and the league has already fined the team for not properly reporting updates on his health. When Embiid returns, Andre Drummond will be pushed to the bench, though that won’t be the end of his value this season.
  • FA Power Forward #15
The Thunder have signed Malevy Leons and subsequently waived Alex Reese.
Reese was signed to a non-guaranteed deal a few days before the start of the regular season, and he played a total of two minutes in a blowout win. Leons will likely play a similar role, which means this won’t have any fantasy impact.
