Derrick White shot 6-of-11 from the field and 3-of-4 from the foul line in Thursday’s rout of the Wizards, amassing 19 points, four rebounds, four assists, one steal, and four 3-pointers in 29 minutes.
Through two games, White is 14-of-24 from the field, scoring 43 points in wins over the Knicks and Wizards. On a night when Jaylen Brown got off to a slow start and Jrue Holiday and Al Horford combined to score seven points (all by Holiday), White’s consistency helped Boston hold off the Wizards before pulling away during the third quarter.

Keldon Johnson played 29 minutes in Saturday’s win over Houston, tallying 16 points (5-of-11 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), seven rebounds, one steal, and one 3-pointer.
  • SAS Power Forward #10
Jeremy Sochan shot 8-of-14 from the field and 1-of-2 from the foul line in Saturday’s win over Houston, scoring 17 points with 12 rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 37 minutes.
  • SAS Power Forward #1
Victor Wembanyama finished Saturday’s win over the Rockets with 29 points (10-of-17 FGs, 7-of-8 FTs), seven rebounds, one assist, three blocks, and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes.
  • HOU Shooting Guard #9
Dillon Brooks logged 35 minutes in Saturday’s loss to San Antonio, scoring 16 points (6-of-12 FGs) with two steals, one assist, one steal, one block, and four 3-pointers.
  • HOU Point Guard #5
Fred VanVleet finished Saturday’s loss to the Spurs with 18 points (5-of-12 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), two rebounds, seven assists, three steals, and four 3-pointers in 39 minutes.
After going 4-of-18 from the field in Houston’s season-opening loss to the Hornets, VanVleet is 10-of-21 over the last two. He’s never been a tremendous field-goal percentage option, but the overall production has made him an excellent point guard to have rostered. Despite shooting 35.9% over three games, VanVleet is close to a top-25 player.
  • HOU Shooting Guard #4
Jalen Green shot 10-of-22 from the field and 6-of-6 from the foul line in Saturday’s loss to the Spurs, tallying 29 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three 3-pointers in 33 minutes.
Green kicked things up a notch after halftime after scoring 12 points on 3-of-8 shooting in the first half. Making seven of 14 shots, he scored 17 in the second half as Houston nearly rallied to steal the win. Green has scored 22 points or more in all three of Houston’s games, a possible indication that his elite run in March wasn’t a mirage. Houston will get another shot at San Antonio on Monday, the first of their three games in Week 2.
  • MIN Shooting Guard #5
Anthony Edwards logged 39 minutes in Saturday’s win over Toronto, recording a line of 24 points (9-of-21 FGs, 1-of-3 FTs), six rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block, and five 3-pointers.
Edwards made some history during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s win, becoming the fourth-youngest player to reach 7,000 career points in NBA history. If the first three games indicate what’s to come, fantasy managers may have to absorb a slight decrease in the field goal percentage, but that isn’t a big deal. Edwards will continue to produce attractive stat lines, with the overall production compensating for the field goal percentage.
  • MIN Center #27
Rudy Gobert shot 6-of-8 from the field and 3-of-4 from the foul line in Saturday’s win over Toronto, scoring 15 points with 13 rebounds, one assist, one steal, and four blocks in 39 minutes.
Gobert had a big night in Minnesota’s home opener, controlling the paint on both ends of the floor. He was efficient as a scorer while being a commanding presence as a rebounder and shot-blocker. Performances like Saturday’s will boost Gobert’s fantasy value after the Karl-Anthony Towns trade. Fantasy managers are likely expecting this to be the norm.
  • MIN Power Forward #30
Julius Randle amassed 24 points (9-of-16 FGs, 5-of-7 FTs), nine rebounds, five assists, and one 3-pointer in 35 minutes in Saturday’s win over Toronto.
Randle has looked more comfortable since struggling in Tuesday’s season opener against the Lakers. He followed up Thursday’s 33-point effort with another 25 in Minnesota’s home opener, shooting over 50% from the field. Add in the rebounds and assists; this was a good night for Randle. He’ll continue cultivating chemistry with Anthony Edwards, likely boosting Randle’s fantasy value. Minnesota begins a three-game Week 2 slate on Tuesday against the Mavericks.
  • TOR Shooting Guard #1
Gradey Dick accounted for 25 points (9-of-16 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), one rebound, two assists, one steal, and four 3-pointers in 29 minutes in Saturday’s loss to Minnesota.
After scoring 24 points on 8-of-22 shooting in Toronto’s first two games, Dick broke out on Saturday. Shooting above 50% from the field, he notched a new career-high with 25 points while hitting four 3-pointers. The limited production outside of points and 3-pointers lowers Dick’s fantasy ceiling, but he’s worthy of consideration in deep leagues.
