According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Grizzlies are waiving Derrick Rose.
After one season in Memphis, the former NBA MVP is looking for a new home. Injuries limited Rose to 24 appearances last season, averaging 8.0 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 16.6 minutes. While Rose’s exit (which is Memphis letting him out of his contract) will not impact Ja Morant’s fantasy value, as he’s firmly entrenched as the starting point guard, this may free up additional opportunities for Scotty Pippen Jr. to earn rotation minutes. He played well for the Grizzlies after a rash of injuries pushed him into the rotation, and there may be some late-round value in deep leagues.
  • CHA Point Guard #22

The Hornets are starting Vasilije Micic, Brandon Miller, Josh Green, Tidjane Salaun and Moussa Diabate on Friday against the Knicks.
LaMelo Ball is sidelined, and Micic will have big shoes to fill after Ball averaged 40/7/8 across his last four. Diabate will replace Taj Gibson as the starting center and team up with rookie Salaun to hold things down in the frontcourt for a team riddled with injuries at the four and five. Expect Brandon Miller to handle a sizable workload on offense.
  • SAC Small Forward #10
DeMar DeRozan (lower back muscle inflammation) is out for Friday’s game against the Trail Blazers.
DeRozan will miss a second consecutive game and has no concrete return timeline. Jae Crowder filled the void in the starting lineup in his Kings debut on Wednesday and should remain in that role. The veteran forward is a deep-league streaming option at best.
  • LAL Shooting Guard #9
Bronny James (left heel contusion) is out for Friday’s game against Oklahoma City.
James isn’t in the rotation when healthy. Consider the rookie out indefinitely until further notice.
  • LAL Center #11
Jaxson Hayes (right ankle contusion) is doubtful for Friday’s game against Oklahoma City.
Hayes has missed seven of the Lakers’ last eight games, aggravating his ankle injury during Tuesday’s loss to the Suns. Christian Koloko will slot in behind Anthony Davis in the rotation, and there’s no need to consider rostering him in fantasy leagues.
  • LAL Shooting Guard #4
Dalton Knecht (right quad contusion) is probable for Friday’s game against Oklahoma City.
The probable tag suggests Knecht will be cleared to play on Friday. If not, Cam Reddish may move back into the starting lineup, but there’s nothing to gain from rostering him in most fantasy leagues.
  • LAL Power Forward #3
Anthony Davis (left foot plantar fasciitis) is probable for Friday’s game against Oklahoma City.
Davis should play against the Thunder in Friday’s pivotal NBA Cup group-stage matchup. He’ll take on his usual workload, with Christian Koloko remaining in the backup center role.
  • POR Small Forward #24
Kris Murray (sternum bruise) is questionable for Friday’s game against Sacramento.
Murray has missed Portland’s last two games with a bruised sternum, leaving the Blazers shorthanded within their bench rotation. While his absence hasn’t impacted fantasy basketball, Rayan Rupert played more rotation minutes on Wednesday against the Pacers. Rupert isn’t worth streaming.
  • POR Center #35
Robert Williams (concussion protocol) is doubtful for Friday’s game against the Kings.
Injured during Monday’s loss to the Grizzlies, Williams did not play on Wednesday and is unlikely to return on Friday. Deandre Ayton is available and will retain the starting center responsibilities, with Jabari Walker as the backup.
  • POR Power Forward #9
Jerami Grant (left knee sprain) is doubtful for Friday’s game against the Kings.
Grant did not play in Wednesday’s loss to the Pacers and appears unlikely to play Friday night. Deni Avdija started in his place and should remain in that role until Grant is available. He should be rostered in all standard leagues, and some shallow-league managers may also consider streaming Avdija.
  • OKC Point Guard #14
Adam Flagler (right hand contusion) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Lakers.
Flagler was not available for Wednesday’s win over the Warriors, and his absence did not impact fantasy basketball or the Thunder rotation.
