The Warriors have requested waivers for Yuri Collins and Javan Johnson.
Collins and Johnson were both signed to Exhibit 10 contracts earlier this week, which only guaranteed them a place in training camp. The Warriors requesting waivers on both makes them eligible for a bonus of $77,500 if they remain with the team’s G League affiliate for at least 60 days. These transactions will not impact fantasy basketball, as the Warriors aren’t expected to fill their 15th standard contract slot.

Torrey Craig never entered Thursday’s loss to the Timberwolves due to an illness.
Absent from the initial injury report, the team officially ruled out Craig during the third quarter of Thursday’s game. His absence would not impact fantasy basketball, even with the Bulls again playing without the injured Zach LaVine.
  • POR Shooting Guard #17
Shaedon Sharpe amassed 13 points (6-of-9 FGs), two rebounds, one assist, one block, and one 3-pointer in 20 minutes in Thursday’s loss to San Antonio.
  • POR Shooting Guard #1
Anfernee Simons accounted for 19 points (7-of-16 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), seven assists, one steal, and three 3-pointers in 33 minutes in Thursday’s loss to the Spurs.
Simons is ranked just outside the top 100 in per-game value, with field-goal percentage being the concern. He’s shooting 39.1% through nine games, nearly four points lower than his mark from last season (43.0%). And if that percentage were to hold, it would be a career-low for Simons. Portland has two more games in Week 3, beginning with Minnesota on Friday.
  • POR Center #2
Deandre Ayton finished Thursday’s loss to the Spurs with 21 points (10-of-15 FGs), 10 rebounds, two steals, one block, and one 3-pointer in 31 minutes.
Ayton has now recorded eight double-doubles in Portland’s first nine games, and his fantasy value is about where it was expected to be before the season began (Yahoo ADP: 62). The foul line has been the issue thus far, with Ayton making 62.5% of his attempts. Getting that number into the mid-60s would give DA a shot at top-50 value.
  • POR Power Forward #9
Jerami Grant played 37 minutes in Thursday’s loss to San Antonio, finishing with 21 points (6-of-10 FGs, 8-of-11 FTs), three rebounds, one assist, and one 3-pointer.
Grant was one of two Blazers to score 21 points on Thursday, with Deandre Ayton being the other. After getting off to an excellent start to the season, Grant’s production has tapered off some, as he’s scored 20 or more in two of his last six games. He’s still holding onto a spot in the top 100, but Grant’s value is sliding toward where fantasy managers expected it to be based on his Yahoo ADP (109).
  • SAS Shooting Guard #5
Stephon Castle finished Thursday’s win over Portland with 14 points (6-of-11 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), three rebounds, and six assists in 25 minutes.
Thursday’s game was the best of Castle’s brief NBA career, with the rookie establishing new highs in points and assists. The former UConn standout efficiently played alongside Chris Paul in the backcourt, impacting the action as a scorer and playmaker for others. With Devin Vassell (foot) on track to return to action, possibly as soon as Saturday, Castle’s streaming value will take a hit.
  • SAS Small Forward #0
Keldon Johnson logged 31 minutes in Thursday’s win over Portland, finishing with 17 points (6-of-13 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), 11 rebounds, three assists, and two 3-pointers.
A double-digit scorer in five straight games, Johnson remains ranked outside the top 150 in 9-cat per-game value. The most significant issue for him has been the assists and defensive production, with Johnson averaging 1.0 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.1 blocks. Coming off the bench doesn’t give him much margin for error, so the defensive stats need to be there for Johnson to be viable in standard leagues.
  • SAS Shooting Guard #22
Malaki Branham (right ankle sprain) recorded a line of 17 points (6-of-8 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), one rebound, three assists, and three 3-pointers in 22 minutes in Thursday’s win over Portland.
Branham had his best offensive performance of the season on Thursday, but it came to a premature end due to an apparent right ankle sprain. His place within the rotation makes Branham a difficult player to rely on in fantasy, especially with Devin Vassell (foot) likely returning this weekend. Hopefully, the ankle injury doesn’t sideline Branham for an extended period.
  • SAS Small Forward #30
Julian Champagnie finished Thursday’s win over San Antonio with 14 points (5-of-10 FGs), six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and four 3-pointers in 33 minutes.
After scoring 13 points in Wednesday’s loss to the Rockets, Champagnie put up one more on Thursday. Rostered in 25% of Yahoo leagues, he’s providing 11th-round per-game value in 9-cat formats, according to Basketball Monster. Devin Vassell’s pending return will impact multiple players, including Chamapgnie. However, he should remain in the starting lineup, as Jeremy Sochan (thumb) was the player Champagnie replaced in the starting lineup.
  • SAS Power Forward #1
Victor Wembanyama shot 4-of-13 from the field and 2-of-3 from the foul line in Thursday’s win over Portland, tallying 12 points, eight rebounds, two assists, four steals, three blocks, and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes.
Wembanyama had another big night on the defensive end of the floor, with Thursday’s game being the third this season in which he’s had at least seven defensive contributions. The concern for fantasy managers is the shooting. Wemby’s shooting 41.3% from the field is a factor in him “only” being a top 10 fantasy player. Look, he’ll be fine. However, the Spurs’ willingness to let their star spend most of his time on the perimeter impacts the shooting accuracy.
