According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Thompson will remain with the Cleveland Cavaliers on a one-year deal.
Thompson got a chance to become a regular rotation player for small stints last year because of injuries. He averaged 3.3 points an 3.6 rebounds per contest. He likely won’t be a key piece when the Cavs are healthy.

Daniel Gafford had 11 points (4-of-9 FGs), 12 rebounds and one block against the Thunder on Sunday.
Gafford came off the bench again Sunday and only played 18 minutes, but still managed to put up a double-double. There aren’t many players in the league that can do that. It doesn’t matter that much that Gafford comes off the bench if he continues to play at least 20 minutes per game, but it could get dicey if he plays less than that. Dallas has three games in Week 5, starting with the Pelicans on Tuesday.
  • DAL Point Guard #11
Kyrie Irving had 23 points (9-of-18 FGs), one rebound, six assists and three 3-pointers against the Thunder on Sunday.
With Luka Doncic out Sunday, Irving was expected to take the lead on offense for Dallas. While he led the team in shot attempts, he didn’t lead the team in scoring as PJ Washington had 27 points. Irving had a fairly typical game with 23 points on 18 shots and six assists, but didn’t explode for a big game in Doncic’s absence. The Mavericks have three games upcoming in Week 5.
  • BKN Small Forward #22
Jalen Wilson amassed 15 points (5-of-7 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), six rebounds, and three 3-pointers in 25 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Knicks.
  • BKN Shooting Guard #24
Cam Thomas tallied 16 points (4-of-11 FGs, 7-of-10 FTs), five rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Knicks.
  • BKN Small Forward #2
Cameron Johnson played 31 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Knicks, finishing with 22 points (7-of-12 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), five rebounds, five assists, and four 3-pointers.
  • BKN Small Forward #28
Dorian Finney-Smith shot 6-of-11 from the field in Sunday’s loss to the Knicks, scoring 16 points with four rebounds, two assists, one block, and four 3-pointers in 28 minutes.
  • DAL Power Forward #25
PJ Washington had 27 points (7-of-13 FGs), 17 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and three 3-pointers in the Mavericks’ 121-119 victory over the Thunder on Sunday.
Washington returned on Saturday after missing five games and didn’t score a point in 19 minutes. Without Luka Doncic in the lineup on Sunday, Washington led the Mavs in scoring with 27 points on 13 shots. He made all 10 of his free throw attempts and made a huge contribution on the boards with 17 rebounds. That’s more like it. Fantasy managers should have no reservations about using Washington going forward. Dallas has three games upcoming in Week 5.
  • NYK Power Forward #32
Karl-Anthony Towns (lower back contusion) finished Sunday’s win over the Nets with 26 points (10-of-16 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), 15 rebounds, six assists, one steal, one block, and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes.
  • NYK Shooting Guard #3
Josh Hart played 45 minutes in Sunday’s win over Brooklyn, amassing 20 points (8-of-13 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), eight rebounds, eight assists, and three 3-pointers.
  • NYK Small Forward #25
Mikal Bridges accumulated 21 points (9-of-18 FGs), six rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block, and three 3-pointers in 45 minutes in Sunday’s win over Brooklyn.
