The Grizzlies have selected Jaylen Wells with the No. 39 pick in the draft.
Wells started the final 20 of his 34 games during his single season at Washington State, where he averaged 12.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 2.1 triples per game. He spent his first two collegiate seasons with D2 Sonoma State before transferring for his junior season. He hasn’t shown much defensively, but he was an effective shooter and shot creator for Washington State. He doesn’t have a complete game by any means, but his shooting upside is certainly intriguing. Luke Kennard has a team option this summer, so Wells can learn from Kennard this year and then potentially become a rotation piece in his second season. He may not develop much else, but he can fill an important role as a floor spacer.

Kyle Filipowski (right ankle sprain) will not return to Thursday’s game against San Antonio.
Filipowski got another start with Walker Kessler sidelined for this game, but now that he’s out, Drew Eubanks will be next on the pecking order. He should see a boost for the rest of this game and could hold some streaming value if both Filipowski and Kessler miss more time.
  • DET Small Forward #12
Tobias Harris lit up Charlotte with 26 points (10-of-16 FGs), eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and six 3-pointers on Thursday.
Harris is starting to figure things out in Detroit. He had his best game of the season, setting a new season-high for both scoring and 3-pointers. Harris has been a solid player in 9-cat leagues for a while because of his well-rounded production, but his numbers have been slightly down early on this year. Hopefully this is a performance that will get him going. His next opportunity will be in Orlando on Saturday, which is a game that could be played without Cade Cunningham (hip), which could result in more shots for Harris.
  • DET Point Guard #2
Cade Cunningham (left hip) led the Pistons with 27 points (9-of-26 FGs), seven rebounds, 10 assists, one steal, two triples and five turnovers in a 123-121 overtime loss to Charlotte on Thursday.
Cade was able to put up his typical big numbers, though it did come on a poor shooting night. However, the bigger story here was that he was forced to exit this game just before overtime because of a left hip injury. Cunningham hasn’t missed a game yet this season and has been averaging multiple career-highs. It’s unclear if this is an injury that will keep him sidelined for Saturday’s game in Orlando, but with a four-game week coming up, Cade’s availability is a big factor. Wendell Moore Jr. replaced him in the closing lineup during overtime, and while he would have some streaming appeal if Cunningham is sidelined, Jaden Ivey would also receive a nice boost.
  • MIN Point Guard #4
Rob Dillingham (right ankle sprain) will not return to Thursday’s game against the Raptors.
Dillingham usually isn’t a large part of the rotation, but he played a larger role in this game with Mike Conley sidelined. Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Donte DiVincenzo should play a few extra minutes with Dillingham out for the rest of this game.
  • LAL Shooting Guard #9
Bronny James (left heel contusion) has been downgraded to out for Thursday’s game against Orlando.
James isn’t part of the team’s rotation when healthy, so his continued absence will not impact fantasy basketball.
  • ORL Shooting Guard #14
The Magic will start Jalen Suggs, Gary Harris, Tristan da Silva, Franz Wagner and Goga Bitadze against the Lakers on Thursday.
With Kentavious Caldwell-Pope sidelined for personal reasons, Harris will get the starting nod in his place. The Magic play again on Saturday, and Harris will likely get another start if KCP remains out. However, he doesn’t have much streaming appeal, aside from some 3-point upside in deeper leagues.
  • ORL Center #34
Wendell Carter Jr. (left foot plantar fasciitis) will remain sidelined for Thursday’s game against the Lakers.
Carter Jr. will miss another game, which means another start for Goga Bitadze, with Moritz Wagner filling out the backup minutes. Bitadze has been the better option in category leagues, but Wagner has been able to provide an offensive punch off the bench.
  • LAL Small Forward #28
Rui Hachimura (right ankle sprain) has been downgraded to out for Thursday’s game against the Magic.
Hachimura will remain sidelined for a fourth straight game, which means another start for Dalton Knecht. The rookie had 37 points and nine 3-pointers in their last game and will look to stay hot in this matchup.
  • LAL Power Forward #3
Anthony Davis (left foot plantar fasciitis) will play against Orlando on Thursday.
AD will continue to play through ailments that haven’t impacted his production. He has still only missed one game this season and has been one of the best players in fantasy basketball. He should feast on Orlando’s center rotation that features Goga Bitadze and Moritz Wagner.
  • SAC Shooting Guard #0
Malik Monk (right ankle inury) will remain sidelined for Friday’s game against the Clippers.
Monk will be out for at least one more game, which will allow for Keon Ellis to continue to play a large role off the bench. He hasn’t played well through most of Monk’s absence, but he exploded for nine 3-pointers in their last game.
