Kyshawn George was selected with the No. 24 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft and subsequently traded to Washington in exchange for picks 26 and 51.
A native of Switzerland, George played one season at Miami (FL) before deciding to forego his remaining college eligibility and turn pro. Listed at 6-foot-7, 209 pounds, the 20-year-old wing didn’t offer much above-the-rim athleticism, but he was an efficient scorer in catch-and-shoot situations. The percentages from three (40.8% on 4.2 attempts per game) and the foul line (77.8%) suggest that George can develop into an effective shooter at the NBA level. And while he wasn’t a disruptive defender, the former Hurricane was rarely out of position within the team’s scheme. George may not project to be an elite 3-and-D wing, but he has the potential to be an effective contributor. The putrid Wizards could use all the help they can get, particularly at forward. George may see some meaningful run in his first NBA season.
