  • UTA Shooting Guard #5
Talen Horton-Tucker led the Jazz with 24 points (10-of-23 FGs), three rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and four triples in a 111-95 loss to Denver on Tuesday.
THT didn’t play in their last game, but with Collin Sexton sidelined for the first time this season, he made a return to the rotation. He stepped up and had his highest-scoring game since December, when he had a season-high 27 points in one of his last starts of the year. THT hasn’t been a consistent part of the team’s rotation, and even when he has been recently, he hasn’t been as productive as he was in this game. However, there are only five games on Thursday, so THT may be worth streaming on the light day. However, with 15 games on Friday and Sunday, there will be better options.
  • LAL Coaching Staff
Nate McMillan and Scott Brooks have been hired as the Lakers’ top assistant coaches, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Lakers have surrounded JJ Redick with two former head coaches that have plenty of experience, which should hopefully help things go smoothly. Brooks has been an assistant in Portland the last few seasons, while McMillan’s last job was as the head coach of Atlanta up until he was fired in February of 2023. This is a strong coaching staff, and now it is on Redick to make it all work together.
  • GSW Coaching Staff
Terry Stotts and Jerry Stackhouse are planning to join Golden State’s coaching staff, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Before Stotts resigned, he held the title of assistant coach in Milwaukee heading into last season. Before that, he was the head coach in Portland for nearly a decade. Stackhouse has been the coach at Vanderbilt for the last five seasons, though that was a disappointing tenure. He had more success as the head coach of Raptors 905, where he won a championship and was the D-League Coach of the Year in 2017. They’ll both bring plenty of experience to Steve Kerr’s staff as they look to reload around Stephen Curry.
  • LAL Small Forward #23
LeBron James intends to re-sign with the Lakers on a two-year, $104 million deal with a player option after year one, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
In an unsurprising move, LeBron will be back with LA for at least two more seasons, unless he chooses to opt out after one year. He’ll have his son on his team and his podcast co-host at head coach, but nothing should change too much in fantasy. James will be 41 by the time this contract is up, so there is a chance that this is his final one. LeBron also has a no-trade clause, though it was unlikely that they dealt him anyway.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #17
The Warriors are in “serious talks” to acquire Buddy Hield in a sign-and-trade, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
The full details of what this move would look like aren’t clear, but it’s clear that the Warriors are wasting no time replacing Klay Thompson. They’ve also added De’Anthony Melton this week, so the non-Stephen Curry guard minutes will be hard to come by, especially with Brandin Podziemski and Moses Moody still in the mix currently. That will make things messy for fantasy managers looking to find value in Golden State, though it does provide them with plenty of depth.
  • MIN Small Forward #1
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Anderson is inking a three-year, $27 million deal with Golden State via sign-and-trade. The Dubs are sending the Minnesota Timberwolves a future second-round pick and cash in the for Anderson.
Anderson doesn’t have much fantasy appeal as a tweener who’ll likely back up Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green for stints. He averaged just 6.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists last season.
  • ORL Power Forward #1
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Isaac is signing a five-year deal worth $84 million.
Isaac appears set to stay with Orlando for the foreseeable future. The two-way swingman was once seen as a potential cornerstone but was derailed by injuries for several seasons. The Magic were able to get the most out of him in shorts bursts throughout their 2023-24 campaign and he’ll likely continue to play a key role off the bench next season. Fantasy managers shouldn’t expect too much from him with Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner in the fold.
  • BOS Power Forward #26
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Xavier Tillman is signing a two-year deal with the Celtics.
Tillman played for the Celtics sparingly in 2023-24 and averaged 4.0 points 2.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists across 20 games after being traded by the Memphis Grizzlies. He has a chance to contribute a little more at the beginning of 2024-25 while Kristaps Porzingis recovers from surgery, but fantasy managers shouldn’t expect too much from the reserve big man.
  • PHX Point Guard #23
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports that Monte Morris plans to sign with the Suns.
Phoenix lacks true PG depth, and Morris’ addition helps to address that issue. Morris is a reliable, long-range threat who shot 39.2% from beyond the arc over the last six seasons.
  • ORL Power Forward #21
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Mo Wagner has agreed to a new, two-year, $22 million deal with the Magic.
Wagner appeared in 80 games last season and averaged 10.9 points and 4.3 rebounds across 17.7 minutes, shooting 60.1% from the floor and 81.4% from the charity stripe. He’ll be a deep-league option in fantasy hoops when someone ahead of him on the depth chart is forced to miss time.
  • NBA Point Guard #34
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Kemba Walker has officially retired from the NBA after 12 seasons.
Walker averaged 19.3 points, 5.3 assists, 3.8 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 2.2 steals across 12 seasons with the Hornets, Knicks, Celtics and Mavericks. Walker was a four-time All-Star who spent the best seasons of his career with Charlotte, and he hangs it up after playing nine games for Dallas in 2022-23 and playing in Monaco last season.
