  • MEM Power Forward #7
Santi Aldama (right foot soreness) and John Konchar (right plantar fasciitis) have been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the 76ers.
This will be a seventh straight absence for Konchar and a third straight for Santi Aldama. GG Jackson, Maozinha Pereira and Dejon Jarreau will take on the power forward minutes, especially with Jake LaRavia and Lamar Stevens listed as doubtful.
  • SAC Point Guard #31
Jordan Ford finished Sunday’s 102-86 loss to Miami with 22 points (8-of-13 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, two steals, and four 3-pointers in 27 minutes.
After spending last season on a two-way contract, Ford faces an uphill battle for a camp invite, with Sacramento having already allocated its three available slots. While Sunday’s scoring production was encouraging, one would like to see more from Ford in the assist category (zero vs. Miami). In a similar position this summer is Adonis Arms, who chipped in with 14 points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block, and one 3-pointer in 26 minutes. While Arms and Ford are representing the Kings, they’re auditioning for all 30 NBA teams.
  • MIA Power Forward #21
Cole Swider shot 7-of-12 from the field and 2-of-2 from the foul line in Sunday’s win over the Kings, amassing 21 points, two rebounds, one assist, and five 3-pointers in 27 minutes.
Swider spent last season on a two-way contract, and the Heat have yet to decide what they’ll do with their three available slots. Shooting the ball as well as he has through two games should strengthen Swider’s chances of earning a return, as he is now 9-of-16 from beyond the arc. He isn’t a player worth targeting in drafts, but solid play this summer will go a long way toward ensuring that Swider is in training camp with the Heat (or another team).
  • MIA Center
Kel’El Ware accounted for 26 points (12-of-21 FGs, 2-of-5 FTs), 11 rebounds, three assists, and one block in 30 minutes in Sunday’s 102-86 win over the Kings.
After blocking five shots in his summer league debut on Saturday, Ware showed off the full offensive game on Sunday. In addition to improved finishing in the paint, he displayed the ability to hit shots in the mid-range, going on to lead all scorers with 26 points. Rebounding and shot-blocking is where the rookie’s bread will be buttered this season, and Ware has been productive in those areas thus far. He isn’t going to pass Bam Adebayo in the pecking order, but the backup center job should be Ware’s this fall/winter.
  • PHX Small Forward #35
According to The Athletic, Kevin Durant missed the first two days of Team USA practice with a strained calf.
The men’s basketball team is holding training camp in Las Vegas ahead of the Paris Olympics, and Steve Kerr’s team has been down a man. According to The Athletic, Durant did not participate in either of the first two days of practice as he is nursing a strained calf. Limited to light individual work, KD’s availability for Wednesday’s exhibition against Canada has yet to be determined. He’ll have time to get healthy, as the United States does not begin group play until July 28 against Serbia.
  • LAL Point Guard
Bronny James (trace swelling, left knee) will not play in Sunday’s California Classic game against the Warriors.
After logging 22 minutes in his Lakers summer debut on Saturday, James is being held out of Sunday’s matchup with the Warriors. This is considered a precautionary measure, and the Lakers expect Bronny to be available for Wednesday’s game against the Heat.
  • MIL Power Forward #34
Giannis Antetokounmpo finished Sunday’s 80-69 win over Croatia with 23 points (8-of-17 FGs, 6-of-10 FTs), eight rebounds, three assists, one steal, one blocked shot, and one 3-pointer in 28 minutes.
Greece will participate in the Summer Olympics in men’s basketball for the first time since 2008, with Sunday’s victory leaving Antetokounmpo in tears. Just as crucial for fantasy managers is that the Bucks star looked healthy throughout the Olympic Qualifying Tournament after missing the entirety of Milwaukee’s first-round series against the Pacers with a left soleus strain. Greece slots into Group A in the Paris Olympics, joining Australia, Canada, and Spain
  • SAC Point Guard
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Kings rookie guard Devin Carter will undergo left shoulder surgery next week.
Two days after the Kings announced that Carter would not participate in the California Classic or Vegas Summer League, Charania reports that the first-round pick will undergo shoulder surgery. While the former Providence standout is expected to fully recover without any long-term issues, it’s unknown if Carter will be healthy when training camp begins. In addition to having Keon Ellis on the roster, the Kings also signed Jordan McLaughlin to a one-year contract. Carter’s value in redraft leagues won’t be determined until the Kings announce a recovery timeline, but he does take a hit due to the uncertainty.
  • FA Center #25
The Heat have waived Orlando Robinson, per an announcement from the team.
Robinson was once seen as the next undrafted player to become a solid player in Miami. However, after they drafted Kel’el Ware in the first round last month, Robinson was bumped down the depth chart. He may be able to find a different team to take a chance on him, but his time in Miami is over.
  • SAC Point Guard #6
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Kings have agreed to a one-year deal with Jordan McLaughlin.
After five seasons in Minnesota, McLaughlin is on the move, reportedly agreeing to a one-year deal with the Kings. Injuries limited him to 56 appearances last season, with the point guard accounting for 3.5 points and 2.0 assists in 11.2 minutes per game. With De’Aaron Fox firmly entrenched as the starting point guard, don’t expect McLaughlin to be worth selecting in fantasy drafts.
  • SAC Shooting Guard #20
Colby Jones amassed six points (1-of-6 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), one rebound, five assists, one steal, and one 3-pointer in 22 minutes in Saturday’s 101-50 win over Team China.
After playing sparingly as a rookie, Jones is looking to move up in the Kings’ pecking order on the wing in 2024-25. While Sacramento acquired DeMar DeRozan on Saturday, Harrison Barnes and Chris Duarte headed out in that trade, which could free up a few minutes for someone. While Jones didn’t have his best night shooting the basketball, he was responsible for five assists (tied for team-high with Mason Jones). Colby isn’t a player fantasy managers should plan on drafting, but he’s worth tracking throughout the Kings’ games in northern California and Las Vegas.
