The Knicks announced on Monday that they’ve signed Jacob Toppin to a two-way contract.
Having begun the season with the Knicks on a two-way deal, Toppin is back under that designation as New York needed to fill a slot before the end of business on Monday. Jacob, the younger brother of former Knick Obi Toppin, has appeared in eight games this season, spending most of his time with the Knicks’ G League affiliate in Westchester.
  • WAS Shooting Guard #24

Corey Kispert (left ankle sprain) will sit out Thursday’s game against the Mavericks.
Kispert injured his ankle during the first half of Tuesday’s loss to the Cavaliers and did not return. Johnny Davis could be pressed into action with Kyshawn George (ankle) also out and Malcolm Brogdon (knee) questionable for Thursday’s game. There’s no need to consider streaming him due to his limited production.
  • WAS Point Guard #15
Malcolm Brogdon (right knee soreness) is listed as questionable for Thursday’s Wizards-Mavericks game.
Brogdon was picking up steam before suffering an injury against the Cavaliers and is now in danger of missing time. Bub Carrington could step back into the starting lineup if Brogdon is sidelined.
  • DAL Small Forward #13
Naji Marshall (illness) will not play in Thursday’s game against the Wizards.
Thursday’s game will be the third that Marshall has missed due to illness. Multiple Mavericks players were impacted by the “bug” last week, forcing some to the sideline at the time. Marshall’s absence means more playing time for Spencer Dinwiddie, who’s played well off the bench over the last two weeks.
  • BOS Point Guard #4
Jrue Holiday (left knee tendinopathy) has been ruled out for Wednesday’s Celtics-Pistons games.
Payton Pritchard might not start but will likely be in line for a much more significant role with Holiday out of the picture after scoring 25 points off the bench in his latest performance.
  • BOS Small Forward #0
Jayson Tatum (right patella tendinopathy) is out for Wednesday’s game against Detroit.
Tatum will not be available after the Celtics listed him as questionable on the initial injury report. Al Horford and Sam Hauser will figure more prominently in the rotation, with the former moving into the starting lineup. Hauser will be worth streaming in deep leagues.
  • SAS Point Guard #33
Tre Jones (left shoulder sprain) has been ruled out for Thursday’s Spurs-Bulls game.
Jones is set to miss a second straight game after returning from an ankle injury for two games. He hasn’t been present enough this season to affect the rotation.
  • SAS Power Forward #1
Victor Wembanyama (back) has been ruled out for Thursday’s Spurs-Bulls game.
Wembanyama appears to have to have tweaked his back during his double-double performance against the Suns. Zach Collins an Charles Bassey will get a chance t take on larger roles against Chicago.
  • CHA Small Forward #0
Miles Bridges (right knee bone bruise) will not play in Thursday’s game against the Knicks.
Bridges has not played since November 19, but he resumed on-court activities on November 27. He’ll miss at least one more game, keeping Tidjane Salaun in the starting lineup. While the opportunities have been there, Salaun hasn’t been consistent enough to merit being streamed in most leagues.
  • DEN Power Forward #31
Vlatko Cancar underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee and will be re-evaluated in eight weeks.
Cancar injured his knee during a November 19 game against the Grizzlies and has not played since. Part of the concern was that this was the same knee he injured (torn ACL) in the summer of 2023 that cost Cancar the entire 2023-24 campaign. His absence will not impact fantasy basketball.
  • TOR Shooting Guard #1
Gradey Dick (left calf contusion) is questionable for Thursday’s game against the Thunder.
He was also questionable ahead of Tuesday’s win over the Pacers, a game Gradey ultimately missed. If cleared to play, he’ll bump Ja’Kobe Walter to the bench.
