Armoni Brooks came off the bench and finished with 17 points (6-for-7 FGs), two rebounds and five triples in a 109-105 win over the Heat on Wednesday.
Brooks came out of nowhere on Wednesday and played a crucial role in helping Brooklyn secure the win. He provided five triples in just 16 minutes off the bench and had a plus/minus of +30. He stepped up with Spencer Dinwiddie and Dennis Smith Jr. out, but it’s hard to imagine him having another game like this. Unless he does this again, leave him on the waiver wire. Mikal Bridges led the team with a 21/7/5 line. Dorian Finney-Smith continued his strong play with 15 points. Cam Thomas cooled off and scored just 13 points on 4-for-19 shooting. Whether the shots are going in or not, he’s not going to stop shooting. Lonnie Walker had a strong game off the bench with a 17/3/4/3 line in 25 minutes. If Dinwiddie remains out, he should be considered as a streaming option. Trendon Watford added 11 points off the bench.

Keegan Murray (left ankle soreness) is questionable for Monday’s Kings-Nuggets game.
Murray popped up on injury report with an ankle injury after flirting with a double-double in his latest outing. He’s played in every game this season and his absence could make way for Isaac Jones to play a significant role off the bench. Especially with Kevin Huerter already ruled out.
  • UTA Point Guard #00
Jordan Clarkson (left plantar fasciitis) is listed as probable for Monday’s Jazz-Clippers game.
Clarkson is trending toward playing in a second straight contest after missing seven consecutive games with foot issues. He handled a full workload his last time out and there’s been no indication that he won’t again to kick off a new week.
  • SAC Shooting Guard #9
Kevin Huerter (left AC joint sprain) has been ruled out for Monday’s Kings-Nuggets game.
Huerter has been available as of late but is set to miss his second game this month. Malik Monk will likely take on a heavier workload. Isaac Jones will be among the top reserve players to keep an eye on.
  • PHI Center #21
Joel Embiid (sinus fracture) is set to miss at least one week of action.
The 76ers will face the Hornets twice this week before wrapping things up against the Cavaliers on Saturday. Andre Drummond will capitalize on his opportunities to get at least three more starts at center in the meantime.
  • CHA Shooting Guard #23
Tre Mann (low back soreness) is set to miss at least two more weeks.
Mann hasn’t played since the Hornet’s overtime win against the Pistons on Nov. 21. Vasilije Micic will likely continue to be a key part of the rotation while Mann recovers.
  • MEM Point Guard #12
Ja Morant accounted for 20 points (6-of-21 FGs, 6-of-8 FTs), seven rebounds, six assists, three steals, and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Lakers.
After scoring 28 points or more in three of his previous four outings, Morant struggled in Los Angeles. In addition to shooting poorly from the field, the Grizzlies point guard recorded a season-high seven turnovers. There’s a three-round gap when comparing Morant’s 8- and 9-cat values, as he’s provided top-50 value in the former while sitting just inside the top 80 in the latter. Morant will look to bounce back on Thursday when the Grizzlies host Golden State.
  • MEM Power Forward #13
Jaren Jackson Jr. finished Sunday’s 116-110 loss to the Lakers with 25 points (9-of-13 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes.
Jackson extended his streak of 20-point games to four on Sunday, finishing the defeat one blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. The Grizzlies power forward/center has been excellent this season, providing top 20 per-game value in 8- and 9-cat formats. Jackson will look to continue this superb run on Thursday when Memphis hosts Golden State to begin a two-game Week 8.
  • MEM Center #14
Zach Edey accumulated 13 points (6-of-8 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), 10 rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one blocked shot in 24 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Lakers.
Sunday’s game was the first for Edey since November 17, and the rookie didn’t check in until Jay Huff appeared to tweak his ankle during the second quarter. Edey would play 24 minutes, recording his third double-double of the season. The minutes are worth tracking, as Huff (three points, three rebounds, one steal, and one 3-pointer) played six minutes, and starter Brandon Clarke (five points, five rebounds, and one assist) 13, with Edey starting the second half. Edey will have increased fantasy value is this split holds. Memphis plays two games in Week 8, beginning with the Warriors at home on Thursday.
  • LAL Shooting Guard #15
Austin Reaves amassed 19 points (6-of-15 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), two rebounds, eight assists, two steals, and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes in Sunday’s win over Memphis.
After scoring 18 points in his first game back from the pelvic contusion that sidelined him for five games, Reaves put up another 19 on Sunday. However, the assist tally stood out, as the eight helpers are a season-high for the Lakers guard. Reaves will enter Week 8 as a top 100 player in 8-cat formats while ranking a few spots outside that threshold in 9-cat. The Lakers play two games in Sacramento next week, with the first scheduled for Thursday.
  • LAL Small Forward #23
LeBron James played 34 minutes in Sunday’s 116-110 win over Memphis, scoring 18 points (7-of-17 FGs, 1-of-4 FTs) with eight rebounds, eight assists, one steal, two blocks, and three 3-pointers.
James was back in the Lakers’ lineup after a two-game absence, getting nine days off to aid in the recovery of his left foot. He looked sharp to begin Sunday’s game and finished with a complete stat line. However, James shot 4-of-11 from two, well below his 2-point percentage (56.0%) for the season. The upcoming schedule will give LeBron more time to rest, as the Lakers won’t play again until Thursday in Sacramento.
