Luka Samanic played 26 minutes in Friday’s 97-93 win over the Suns, tallying 22 points (8-of-15 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), six rebounds, four assists, one steal, two blocks, and four 3-pointers.
Samanic produced his best performance of the summer on Friday, coming up big on a night when the Jazz were without the injured Keyonte George (ankle). As a result, Utah will participate in Sunday’s semifinals, playing against the Rockets. While Samanic had some good performances late last season, his fantasy value for the 2023-24 campaign will be limited due to the state of Utah’s frontcourt. Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler have been joined by John Collins, meaning that there won’t be many minutes available to a Samanic or Micah Potter (11/6/2 with three 3-pointers in 24 minutes).
