Udonis Haslem logged 25 minutes in Sunday’s 123-105 win over Orlando, tallying 24 points (9-of-17 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), three rebounds, and three 3-pointers.
Playing in his final regular season game, Haslem made the most of his time on the court Sunday afternoon. The three 3-pointers were a career-high for “Mr. 305,” and it goes without saying that the 24 points are a season-high. His performance was a reminder of what the guy on the end of an NBA bench is capable of and quite the farewell for a player who’s meant so much to his hometown team. Of Miami’s five starters, only Haywood Highsmith (2/5/3/1/1 in 27 minutes) played extended minutes on Sunday. Duncan Robinson (20/2/4/1 with three 3-pointers) and Victor Oladipo (19/2/8/2 with five 3-pointers) played well off the bench for the Heat, who host Atlanta on Tuesday in a play-in game. The winner will face Boston in the first round of the playoffs.

PJ Washington finished Thursday’s win over San Antonio with 11 points (4-of-11, 1-of-2 FTs), six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 26 minutes.
  • DAL Center #2
Dereck Lively II played 28 minutes in Thursday’s win over the Spurs, accounting for 15 points (6-of-8 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), 11 rebounds, six assists, and one steal.
  • DAL Point Guard #11
Kyrie Irving accumulated 15 points (6-of-17 FGs), three rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block, and three 3-pointers in 27 minutes in Thursday’s win over the Spurs.
  • DAL Point Guard #77
Luka Doncic logged 36 minutes in Thursday’s win over San Antonio, accounting for 28 points (9-of-25 FGs, 6-of-8 FTs), 10 rebounds, eight assists, one steal, one block, and four 3-pointers.
Doncic didn’t have a great night shooting the basketball, but he still finished two assists shy of a triple-double. And the chemistry between him and Klay Thompson appeared solid in the latter’s official Mavericks debut. That’s no small feat, considering Doncic did not play during the preseason due to a calf injury. The sharpness will come as Doncic shakes off the “game rust” that likely accumulated while sidelined.
  • DAL Shooting Guard #31
Klay Thompson shot 7-of-13 from the field and 2-of-2 from the foul line in Thursday’s win over the Spurs, scoring 22 points with seven rebounds, one assist, three steals, and six 3-pointers in 26 minutes.
Dallas’ significant offseason addition, Thompson didn’t waste any time making a positive impression on his new team. One of the game’s all-time great 3-point shooters, Klay established a new Mavericks record for most 3-pointers made in a debut for the team with six. Playing off of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving should guarantee Thompson ample catch-and-shoot opportunities, and fantasy managers will undoubtedly take the three steals as well.
  • WAS Point Guard #8
Bub Carrington has been diagnosed with a mild left ankle sprain.
The initial diagnosis is good news for Carrington and the Wizards. The first-round pick injured his ankle on a layup attempt during the fourth quarter and did not return. Fantasy managers should consider Carrington doubtful for Saturday’s game against the Cavaliers until the Wizards provide an official designation. Corey Kispert and fellow rookie Kyshawn George may play more minutes if Carrington misses time.
  • OKC Shooting Guard #11
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luguentz Dort, Isaiah Joe, Jalen Williams, and Chet Holmgren will start Thursday’s game against the Nuggets.
Recently removed from the injury report after suffering a sprained ankle, Williams is in the starting lineup for Thursday’s season opener. The other notable starter is Joe, who receives the nod with Isaiah Hartenstein (hand) sidelined. Alex Caruso, acquired from the Bulls this summer, will figure prominently off the bench, but that role limits his fantasy potential.
  • SAC Shooting Guard #9
De’Aaron Fox, Kevin Huerter, DeMar DeRozan, Keegan Murray, and Domantas Sabonis will start Thursday’s game against the Timberwolves.
The lone change from the preseason is Huerter, who was recently cleared after having his 2023-24 season end prematurely due to a shoulder injury. Red Velvet’s return means Keon Ellis will come off the bench, limiting his fantasy value. Also, this is DeRozan’s official Kings debut after being acquired from the Bulls this summer.
  • WAS Small Forward #18
Kyshawn George shot 2-of-6 from the field in Thursday’s loss to the Celtics, recording a stat line of four points, three rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 20 minutes.
George didn’t offer much value to fantasy managers on Thursday, but the good news is that he’s firmly in the rotation. That may change once Malcolm Brogdon (thumb) is cleared to return, but that’s still a few weeks away. Depending on the status of Bub Carrington (leg), who was injured during the fourth quarter, George may take on additional responsibilities in the short term.
  • WAS Center #17
Jonas Valanciunas shot 8-of-13 from the field and 2-of-2 from the foul line in Thursday’s loss to the Celtics, tallying 18 points, five rebounds, and two assists in 20 minutes.
Valanciunas came off the bench in his first official game with the Wizards, backing up lottery pick Alex Sarr. The veteran center made good use of his time on the floor, scoring 18 points and grabbing five rebounds. Fantasy managers know the defensive numbers will be meager, but Valanciunas still has value in deep leagues.
