The report does indicate that while the Celtics aren’t interested in bringing in Melo, they may not be completely done shaping their roster. Melo would do a decent job of replacing what Danilo Gallinari would’ve brought, but they may be more interested in using the roster spot on a different player. Melo should still be able to find a job in the NBA and have no problem delivering some points and triples.

One day after officially retiring from basketball, it has been announced that Walker will be an assistant coach for his former team. He’ll bring plenty of wisdom to a young team that is looking to turn a corner with a first year head coach at the helm.

Bryant played 11.6 minutes across 38 appearances last season. The Heat added Kel’el Ware in the draft, so Bryant may end up being their third option at center. He’ll be a solid depth piece, but there isn’t much fantasy value here.

Vukcevic will be back with the Wizards after closing out last season with them. He may spend a lot of time to start the year in the G-League, with Jonas Valanciunas, Richaun Holmes and Marvin Bagley filling most of the center minutes. He has a ton of upside, and he is worth stashing in dynasty formats.

Johnson last suited up in the NBA with the Spurs in February of 2023, and now he will join the team that has won two of the last four Euroleague championships. The former lottery pick may eventually work his way back over to the NBA, but he won’t make much of a fantasy impact.

Bolden suited up in nine games for the Hornets last season, as well as two for Milwaukee. Bolden will have a chance to sign elsewhere, but he hasn’t proven himself to be a player worth keeping tabs on in any fantasy format.

After missing all of last season, Lee will be back with the Suns despite declining his player option a few days ago. During the 2022-23 season, he averaged 8.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 triples in 20.4 minutes per game. He should play a role off the bench, but he isn’t a player that will make much of an impact in fantasy basketball.

The Lakers have surrounded JJ Redick with two former head coaches that have plenty of experience, which should hopefully help things go smoothly. Brooks has been an assistant in Portland the last few seasons, while McMillan’s last job was as the head coach of Atlanta up until he was fired in February of 2023. This is a strong coaching staff, and now it is on Redick to make it all work together.

Before Stotts resigned, he held the title of assistant coach in Milwaukee heading into last season. Before that, he was the head coach in Portland for nearly a decade. Stackhouse has been the coach at Vanderbilt for the last five seasons, though that was a disappointing tenure. He had more success as the head coach of Raptors 905, where he won a championship and was the D-League Coach of the Year in 2017. They’ll both bring plenty of experience to Steve Kerr’s staff as they look to reload around Stephen Curry.

In an unsurprising move, LeBron will be back with LA for at least two more seasons, unless he chooses to opt out after one year. He’ll have his son on his team and his podcast co-host at head coach, but nothing should change too much in fantasy. James will be 41 by the time this contract is up, so there is a chance that this is his final one. LeBron also has a no-trade clause, though it was unlikely that they dealt him anyway.

The full details of what this move would look like aren’t clear, but it’s clear that the Warriors are wasting no time replacing Klay Thompson. They’ve also added De’Anthony Melton this week, so the non-Stephen Curry guard minutes will be hard to come by, especially with Brandin Podziemski and Moses Moody still in the mix currently. That will make things messy for fantasy managers looking to find value in Golden State, though it does provide them with plenty of depth.
