The Suns are signing free-agent guard Chasson Randle to a training camp deal according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Randle suited up for Orlando last season providing some relief as the Magic dealt with backcourt injuries throughout the regular season. The Suns already have three point guards with CP3, Cameron Payne and Elfrid Payton, so it is unlikely that he makes the opening day roster unless Phoenix plans on playing him off the ball.

Alex Caruso shot 3-of-5 from the field and 2-of-2 from the foul line in Friday’s win over Houston, scoring 10 points with four rebounds, one assist, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 14 minutes.
Caruso reached double figures for the first time this season, but the minutes weren’t enough for him to provide worthwhile value in most leagues. The nature of Friday’s game had something to do with that, but Caruso has yet to play 25 minutes in a game this season. Even with the ability to fill out a stat line, Caruso can’t be rostered in most leagues.
  • WAS Center #17
Jonas Valanciunas had 16 points (7-of-11 FGs), five rebounds, two steals and three blocks against the Grizzlies on Saturday.
J-Val got the start, but played only 23 minutes in the blowout loss. Valanciunas doesn’t need to play much more than 20 minutes to have a good fantasy night, though. He was efficient with 16 points on 11 shots and contributed on defense with five rebounds, two steals and three blocks. The Wizards have the day off Saturday before a date with the Magic on Sunday.
  • MEM Center #14
Zach Edey had a full stat line with 14 points (5-of-8 FGs), eight rebounds, two assists, one block, three steals and one 3-pointer against the Wizards on Friday.
Edey played 22 minutes off the bench in the blowout win. While he’s not a fantasy starter at this point, Edey is worth rostering. His play and playing time aren’t consistent yet, but there have certainly been signs that he can be effective. The Grizzlies take on the Trail Blazers on the road Sunday.
  • HOU Point Guard #1
Amen Thompson amassed 14 points (5-of-12 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), seven rebounds, one assist, and one blocked shot in 24 minutes in Friday’s loss to Oklahoma City.
Thompson has scored in double figures in four of his last five games and is ranked just outside the top 100 in per-game value over the past week. He and Tari Eason (12/6/0/3/1 with two 3-pointers) provide solid fantasy value despite coming off the bench, but the latter is only rostered in 28% of Yahoo leagues despite approaching top-50 value. While Thompson’s rostered percentage (68%) is acceptable, Eason’s number should be higher.
  • HOU Shooting Guard #4
Jalen Green shot 5-of-14 from the field and 2-of-2 from the foul line in Friday’s loss to the Thunder, tallying 14 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two 3-pointers in 28 minutes.
After scoring 22 points or more in each of Houston’s first five games, Green has cooled off offensively. He’s surpassed 15 points once in the last four, shooting 32.1% from the field. The decrease in efficiency is why Green has been ranked outside the top 175 over the past week. While he’s never been the most efficient scorer, Green is capable of more than what he’s provided recently.
  • MEM Point Guard #1
Scotty Pippen Jr. had 11 points (4-of-8 FGs), 10 rebounds, 11 assists and one steal against the Wizards on Friday.
Starting for the injured Ja Morant, Pippen Jr. posted the first triple-double of his career. He was +21 in 28 minutes in the 24-point victory. Pippen Jr. has played well this year, but has a lot more fantasy value while Morant is out. We should know more about Morant’s timetable to return this weekend, but in the meantime Pippen Jr. has to be in starting fantasy lineups. The Grizzlies take on the Trail Blazers on the road Sunday.
  • HOU Shooting Guard #9
Dillon Brooks finished Friday’s loss to Oklahoma City with 17 points (6-of-12 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, one assist, and three 3-pointers in 27 minutes.
Brooks shot the ball well on Friday, making half of his shots overall and going 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. The Rockets wing has reached double figures in three straight and four of his last five, but he remains nothing more than a deep-league option. Brooks and the Rockets end Week 3 on Sunday in Detroit.
  • OKC Point Guard #25
Ajay Mitchell played 20 minutes in Friday’s win over Houston, finishing with 12 points (5-of-6 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), three rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and one 3-pointer.
Even with his performance against the Rockets, Mitchell is not worth adding in most fantasy leagues. All six games in which he’s hit double figures in minutes have been blowouts, including his two double-digit scoring nights. Mitchell’s name is worth filing away for the “silly season” if Oklahoma City were to run away with the top seed in the West, but that’s it.
  • OKC Point Guard #22
Cason Wallace shot 2-of-4 from the field in Friday’s win over the Rockets, accumulating four points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one blocked shot in 23 minutes.
The fifth spot in the starting lineup has been a revolving door, with Wallace, Isaiah Joe, and Aaron Wiggins all receiving the nod at various points this season. It was Wallace’s turn on Friday, but he offered minimal value as the starter, while Joe (14/6/1 with three 3-pointers) and Wiggins (8/5/5/1/1 with two 3-pointers) were more productive. Wiggins has been the best fantasy option thus far, but all three are deep-league options at best.
  • OKC Power Forward #7
Chet Holmgren shot 8-of-14 from the field and 9-of-10 from the foul line in Friday’s win over Houston, scoring 29 points with five rebounds, one assist, three blocks, and four 3-pointers in 29 minutes.
Holmgren thoroughly outplayed his Rockets counterpart, with Alperen Sengun shooting 3-of-12 from the field and scoring 11 points. Holmgren didn’t play during the fourth quarter, as the Thunder used a 44-point second quarter to remove any doubt regarding the outcome. As expected before the season began, Holmgren is providing top 20 per-game value, and it would be unsurprising if he were a 1st-round player by season’s end.
