Sean McDermott sank 7-of-9 shots for 19 points on Monday, going 4-of-5 from deep with two assists and one rebound in 29 minutes of action.
McDermott missed nearly a month to end the 2020-21 season, so the biggest takeaway here is that he’s healthy. Unless injuries thin out the Grizzlies’ rotation, he’ll probably spend a lot of time in the G League.

  • TOR Center #19

Jakob Poeltl (groin) won’t return to Monday’s game against the Bulls.
Poeltl injured his groin when he planted his foot on defense in the second half against the Bulls Monday. He ended up doing the splits, almost as if there was a wet spot on the floor. Poeltl headed to the locker room and was quickly ruled out so he could be down for at least another game or two in the future.
  • CHA Center #4
Nick Richards finished Monday’s loss to Philadelphia with 19 points (7-of-9 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), five rebounds, one steal, and one blocked shot in 15 minutes.
  • CHA Small Forward #0
Miles Bridges shot 10-of-19 from the field and 2-of-3 from the foul line in Monday’s loss to Philadelphia, scoring 24 points with six rebounds, four assists, and two 3-pointers in 28 minutes.
  • CHA Point Guard #1
LaMelo Ball (left calf strain) finished Monday’s 121-108 loss to the 76ers with 15 points (5-of-15 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), five rebounds, 11 assists, four steals, and three 3-pointers in 26 minutes.
  • PHI Center #5
Andre Drummond shot 4-of-7 from the field and 1-of-1 from the foul line in Monday’s loss to Charlotte, scoring nine points with 15 rebounds, one assist, two steals, and one blocked shot in 28 minutes.
  • PHI Small Forward #1
KJ Martin played 21 minutes in Monday’s win over the Hornets, finishing with two points (1-of-2 FGs), two rebounds, and one steal.
  • PHI Small Forward #8
Paul George amassed 33 points (13-of-20 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, eight assists, two steals, one blocked shot, and six 3-pointers in Monday’s 121-108 win over Charlotte.
Not only did George score a season-high 33 points, but he made some personal history on Monday. With his six 3-pointers, PG is now ranked 10th in league history on made 3-pointers, passing Jason Terry. Next on the list is Vince Carter (2,290), who George (2,283) could pass as soon as Friday’s rematch with the Hornets. With Joel Embiid (sinus fracture) sidelined for at least one week, Philadelphia will need a more aggressive George, which should boost his fantasy value.
  • PHI Point Guard #0
Tyrese Maxey accumulated 40 points (12-of-28 FGs, 10-of-13 FTs), five rebounds, five assists, four steals, and six 3-pointers in 40 minutes in Monday’s 121-108 win over the Hornets.
Maxey scored Philadelphia’s final eight points from the foul line on Monday, with that personal run netting the guard his second 40-point game of the season. With Joel Embiid (sinus fracture) sidelined for at least one week, Maxey and Paul George will shoulder most of the scoring load for the 76ers in Week 8. That’s good news for fantasy managers who have either of those perimeter stars rostered, especially with the 76ers facing Charlotte again on Friday.
  • SAC Small Forward #7
De’Aaron Fox, Malik Monk, DeMar DeRozan, Doug McDermott, and Domantas Sabonis will start Monday’s game against the Nuggets.
The Kings are without Keegan Murray for Monday’s game, which has opened up a spot in the starting lineup. McDermott will fill the void. While he doesn’t offer much value defensively, there may be some catch-and-shoot situations from which “Dougie McBuckets” can benefit. That’s the lone change to the Kings starting lineup.
  • DEN Point Guard #4
Jamal Murray, Russell Westbrook, Michael Porter Jr., Aaron Gordon, and Nikola Jokic will start Monday’s game against the Kings.
With Christian Braun (back) sidelined, Westbrook will start alongside Murray. This should mean more time off the ball for Jamal, possibly resulting in a more productive night for him as a scorer. Julian Strawther will also have increased fantasy value, but he takes a hit remaining on the bench instead of replacing Braun.
