Kim English has been working with the Pistons coaching staff on his conditioning.
English wrote that “my body is changing” after working with Arnie Kander and the coaching staff, and he’s up eight pounds (from 192 to 200) since being drafted. English also revealed that he’s “doing things that are a lot different” than previously, but it’s a part of the acclimation process. English still has a long road ahead if he is going to become relevant for fantasy owners this season.

Ja Morant accounted for 20 points (6-of-21 FGs, 6-of-8 FTs), seven rebounds, six assists, three steals, and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Lakers.
After scoring 28 points or more in three of his previous four outings, Morant struggled in Los Angeles. In addition to shooting poorly from the field, the Grizzlies point guard recorded a season-high seven turnovers. There’s a three-round gap when comparing Morant’s 8- and 9-cat values, as he’s provided top-50 value in the former while sitting just inside the top 80 in the latter. Morant will look to bounce back on Thursday when the Grizzlies host Golden State.
  • MEM Power Forward #13
Jaren Jackson Jr. finished Sunday’s 116-110 loss to the Lakers with 25 points (9-of-13 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes.
Jackson extended his streak of 20-point games to four on Sunday, finishing the defeat one blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. The Grizzlies power forward/center has been excellent this season, providing top 20 per-game value in 8- and 9-cat formats. Jackson will look to continue this superb run on Thursday when Memphis hosts Golden State to begin a two-game Week 8.
  • MEM Center #14
Zach Edey accumulated 13 points (6-of-8 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), 10 rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one blocked shot in 24 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Lakers.
Sunday’s game was the first for Edey since November 17, and the rookie didn’t check in until Jay Huff appeared to tweak his ankle during the second quarter. Edey would play 24 minutes, recording his third double-double of the season. The minutes are worth tracking, as Huff (three points, three rebounds, one steal, and one 3-pointer) played six minutes, and starter Brandon Clarke (five points, five rebounds, and one assist) 13, with Edey starting the second half. Edey will have increased fantasy value is this split holds. Memphis plays two games in Week 8, beginning with the Warriors at home on Thursday.
  • LAL Shooting Guard #15
Austin Reaves amassed 19 points (6-of-15 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), two rebounds, eight assists, two steals, and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes in Sunday’s win over Memphis.
After scoring 18 points in his first game back from the pelvic contusion that sidelined him for five games, Reaves put up another 19 on Sunday. However, the assist tally stood out, as the eight helpers are a season-high for the Lakers guard. Reaves will enter Week 8 as a top 100 player in 8-cat formats while ranking a few spots outside that threshold in 9-cat. The Lakers play two games in Sacramento next week, with the first scheduled for Thursday.
  • LAL Small Forward #23
LeBron James played 34 minutes in Sunday’s 116-110 win over Memphis, scoring 18 points (7-of-17 FGs, 1-of-4 FTs) with eight rebounds, eight assists, one steal, two blocks, and three 3-pointers.
James was back in the Lakers’ lineup after a two-game absence, getting nine days off to aid in the recovery of his left foot. He looked sharp to begin Sunday’s game and finished with a complete stat line. However, James shot 4-of-11 from two, well below his 2-point percentage (56.0%) for the season. The upcoming schedule will give LeBron more time to rest, as the Lakers won’t play again until Thursday in Sacramento.
  • LAL Power Forward #3
Anthony Davis shot 15-of-22 from the field and 9-of-12 from the foul line in Sunday’s 116-110 win over Memphis, tallying 40 points, 16 rebounds, two assists, two steals, one blocked shot, and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes.
Davis was outstanding on Sunday, matching his season-highs in points (40) and rebounds (16) and recording a complete stat line. Regardless of who was assigned to defend the Lakers’ star, the Grizzlies could not find an answer. Unfortunately, there was an injury scare, as Davis returned to the locker room during the third quarter with an apparent left shoulder injury. AD would return early in the fourth to continue his dominance of the visitors. The Lakers play two games in Sacramento during Week 8, with the first scheduled for Thursday night.
  • GSW Small Forward #22
Andrew Wiggins had 29 points (11-of-20 FGs), three rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and five 3-pointers against the Mavericks on Sunday.
Wiggins missed two games with a right ankle impingement, but didn’t miss a beat as he had one of his top scoring games of the year. He poured in 29 points and five 3-pointers to lead the Warriors in scoring. It was a surprising performance as it wasn’t clear if Wiggins would start or have a minutes restriction upon returning from injury. He put any concerns to rest with a huge night against the Mavericks Sunday.
  • GSW Point Guard #30
Stephen Curry had 26 points (9-of-19 FGs), five rebounds, 10 assists, one steal and seven 3-pointers against the Mavericks on Sunday.
Curry had a double-double and made 7-of-13 attempts from behind the 3-point line. Still, his game wasn’t without faults as he scored 26 points on 19 shots, had two turnovers and was -10 in 35 minutes in the 10-point loss. Ultimately, the 26 points were a positive as his recent lack of scoring had dropped him out of the top-50 fantasy players in the last two weeks.
  • DAL Shooting Guard #31
Klay Thompson had 29 points (9-of-14 FGs), five rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block and seven 3-pointers against the Warriors on Sunday.
Thompson had a complete game in his return to Golden State Sunday. He filled up the stat sheet as he faced his former team. Overall on the season, the 34-year-old shooting guard isn’t providing much outside of points and threes. He had 29 points and seven 3-pointers Sunday as he shot the lights out. When Thompson is shooting like this and contributing in other categories, he can be pretty valuable in fantasy, though he hasn’t done that consistently this year.
  • DAL Point Guard #77
Luka Doncic had 45 points (16-of-23 FGs), 11 rebounds, 13 assists, three steals, two blocks and six 3-pointers in the Mavericks’ 143-133 victory over the Warriors on Sunday.
Doncic was incredible on Sunday. He came out on fire with 28 points, eight rebounds and nine assists in the first half and ultimately finished with a 45-point triple-double. Doncic’s three steals and two blocks were just the cherry on top of an already stellar performance. The 25-year-old point guard is a top-10 fantasy player on a per-game basis this season.
