Veteran swingman Dahntay Jones scored 13 points off the bench on Saturday, with three 3-pointers, three assists and two steals in 23 minutes.
Jones got extra burn with Paul George mired in foul trouble, and he made the most of his opportunity. The Pacers have hit a bit of a lull lately, but this victory moved them three games ahead of seventh-place Boston.
  • TOR Center #19

Jakob Poeltl finished Friday’s win over the 76ers with 19 points (5-of-8 FGs, 9-of-11 FTs), nine rebounds, three assists, and four blocks in 27 minutes.
  • TOR Power Forward #2
Jonathan Mogbo logged 24 minutes off the bench in Friday’s win over the 76ers, accounting for 12 points (3-of-8 FGs, 6-of-7 FTs), nine rebounds, five assists, two steals, and three blocked shots.
  • TOR Small Forward #4
Scottie Barnes shot 8-of-11 from the field and 11-of-13 from the foul line in Friday’s win over Philadelphia, tallying 27 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one blocked shot in 36 minutes.
  • PHI Center #5
Andre Drummond recorded a stat line of 11 points (4-of-11 FGs, 3-of-8 FTs), nine rebounds, four steals, and two blocked shots in 22 minutes in Friday’s loss to the Raptors.
  • PHI Small Forward #9
Kelly Oubre Jr. accumulated 28 points (9-of-17 FGs, 7-of-8 FTs), two rebounds, two assists, two steals, and three 3-pointers in 39 minutes in Friday’s loss to the Raptors.
After shooting 1-of-6 from three in Wednesday’s loss to the Bucks, Oubre knocked down three of six attempts on Friday. He’s been the biggest beneficiary from the absences of Paul George and Joel Embiid, taking on a more prominent role within the 76ers offense. Oubre will have value once those two return, and managers can continue to ride the wave until that time comes.
  • PHI Point Guard #0
Tyrese Maxey shot 6-of-23 from the field and 10-of-12 from the foul line in Friday’s loss to the Raptors, amassing 24 points, two rebounds, four assists, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 41 minutes.
As was the case in Wednesday’s loss to Milwaukee, Maxey put up a solid point total, but the efficiency wasn’t there. Through two games, he’s shooting 16-of-54 from the field, a far cry from the scoring guard Maxey was last season. Of course, Paul George and Joel Embiid sitting due to knee injuries has much to do with that. Hopefully, those two return sooner rather than later, as fantasy managers who have Maxey rostered are essentially punting field-goal percentage.
  • ORL Shooting Guard #3
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope logged 26 minutes in Friday’s win over Brooklyn, accounting for 10 points (3-of-7 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), one rebound, two assists, two steals, two blocks, and two 3-pointers.
After providing little value in his official Magic debut, Caldwell-Pope was considerably better on Friday. He knocked two a couple of 3-pointers, but the defensive production has allowed him to be more valuable to fantasy managers than anticipated in recent seasons. Caldwell-Pope recorded four defensive contributions against the Nets, and averaging two per game will make him a solid option in deeper leagues.
  • ORL Power Forward #21
Moritz Wagner shot 7-of-8 from the field and 3-of-4 from the foul line in Friday’s win over the Nets, tallying 18 points, three rebounds, one steal, one block, and one 3-pointer in 15 minutes.
Jonathan Isaac’s absence did not impact Wagner’s playing time, but there was more room for the reserve big to make things happen offensively. Mo did that, shooting a high percentage from the field and leading the way for a bench unit that tallied 44 points on the night. Wagner’s most valuable in fantasy basketball when Wendell Carter Jr. is injured, so there’s no need to add him in the aftermath of Friday’s performance.
  • ORL Small Forward #22
Franz Wagner tallied 27 points (10-of-19 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), six rebounds, five assists, one steal, and three 3-pointers in 39 minutes in Friday’s win over Brooklyn.
Wagner’s gotten off to an excellent start this season, shooting 20-of-35 from the field in wins over the Heat and Nets. While the fantasy value slipped some last season, the Magic wing can provide top 50 per game value. At worst, Wagner is a middle-round player in standard leagues.
  • BKN Point Guard #17
Dennis Schroder played 32 minutes in Friday’s loss to the Magic, amassing 20 points (7-of-12 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), one rebound, six assists, one steal, and three 3-pointers.
While the Nets didn’t have a good night collectively, Schroder played well against German national team teammates Franz and Moritz Wagner. He was one of two 20-point scorers for the Nets (Cam Thomas) while also dishing out six assists. The inconsistent defensive production relegates Schroder to late-round value in standard leagues, but he’s certainly capable of nights like Friday.
