Jalen Johnson (ankle) sits out fourth quarter

Jalen Johnson (ankle) recorded 13 points (5-of-11 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), seven rebounds, four assists, one block and one three-pointer in Saturday’s loss to the Pelicans.

Johnson played the entire third quarter, but that would be the last we’d see of him on the court Saturday night. The Hawks forward sprained his left ankle, and while Johnson was questionable to return, he didn’t, as the game got out of hand. Atlanta’s four-game Week 3 begins on Monday against the Pacers and includes a back-to-back. If Johnson misses time, Aaron Wiggins (10/2/1/1/1 with two three-pointers) could become more important.

Lakers head coach JJ Redick said Sunday that Ziaire Williams (foot) is dealing with soreness, so he’s sitting out Sunday’s game against the Raptors.

Sunday’s game will be the third Williams has missed due to left foot/heel injury management. The good news is that, while Williams is dealing with soreness, scans of the foot came back clean. Jake LaRavia should remain in the starting lineup until Williams is cleared to return.

Alpha Diallo (wrist) is questionable for Monday’s game against the Trail Blazers.

Diallo has missed Denver’s last four games with a sprained wrist. If he can play on Monday, the rookie wing will come off the bench, as Cameron Johnson returned from a sprained ankle on Friday against the Suns.

Spencer Jones (hamstring) is out for Monday’s game against the Trail Blazers.

Jones has not appeared in a game this season, and that won’t change on Monday. Rookie Trevon Brazile has been a fixture in the Nuggets’ rotation, and that won’t change anytime soon.

Zach LaVine (elbow) is questionable for Monday’s game against the Mavericks.

LaVine is dealing with right elbow inflammation. He hasn’t missed a game this season, but if that changes, Malik Monk could take on a bigger role, whether he starts or comes off the bench.

Dylan Cardwell (calf) is questionable for Monday’s game against the Mavericks.

After suffering a calf strain during the preseason, Cardwell has not played in a game this season. That could change on Monday, and the second-year center could give the winless Kings a needed infusion of energy and defense. If Cardwell plays, Jonathan Mogbo could fall out of the rotation entirely.

Quinten Post (ankle) is questionable for Monday’s game against the Pelicans.

Post didn’t play in Saturday’s win over the Kings, leaving the backup center role solely to Isaiah Stewart. Beef Stew was outstanding, shooting 8-of-9 from the field and scoring 24 points.

Scotty Pippen Jr. (back) is doubtful for Monday’s game against the Pelicans.

Pippen did not play in Saturday’s win over the Kings and appears likely to remain out on Monday. Ty Jerome (back) is available, so Pippen remaining out would not put the Grizzlies in a terrible spot. Javon Small could play some off the bench after logging 20 minutes on Saturday, but that isn’t guaranteed.

Ty Jerome (back) is not on the injury report for Monday’s game against the Pelicans.

Jerome is back after sitting out Saturday’s win against the Kings. As a result, Cam Spencer will return to the bench after dishing out 13 assists in the spot start.

Franz Wagner tallied 14 points (5-of-20 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), six rebounds, 12 assists and one three-pointer in Sunday’s loss to the Celtics.

While Wagner set a career high with 12 assists, he struggled to make shots. Shooting 54.2 percent from inside the arc entering Sunday, the Magic forward shot 4-of-16 from inside the arc against the Celtics. Wagner is shooting 39.6 percent for the season, but three-point shooting has been the issue (18.5 percent entering Sunday). He’ll look to turn things around on Monday against the Wizards.

Tristan da Silva finished Sunday’s loss to the Celtics with 23 points (9-of-14 FGs), 10 rebounds, two assists and five three-pointers.

Injuries to Paolo Banchero (ankle) and Jalen Suggs (knee) have not resulted in da Silva moving into the starting lineup. However, that doesn’t prevent him from providing reliable fantasy value. Against the Celtics, da Silva recorded his first double-double of the season and second of his NBA career. Rostered in 22 percent of Yahoo leagues, da Silva is a worthwhile pickup, even with the Magic playing three games next week.
