NBA Friday’s back with a big slate of games tonight. Always keep an eye on the news with the Rotogrinders App to make sure you are setting the best roster you can. Let’s dig in deeper now and find some top plays at each position for games on both FanDuel and DraftKings tonight.
Point Guard
Kyle Lowry (at Phoenix)
Kyle Lowry has submerged himself into that second-tier of point guards behind Russell Westbrook and Steph Curry and might be on par now with Chris Paul and John Wall. He’s ripped off six straight games of at least 42 DraftKings points this season. Tonight, the matchup is at Phoenix and he should be able to do whatever he wants in this game. Lowry averages 1.24 Fanduel points per minute this season, so all we need is his full allotment of minutes. A game on the road against a Phoenix team could provide just enough minutes for Kyle Lowry to have another explosive game. Toronto sits with the second highest team total on the board tonight (119) behind Golden State.

Shooting Guard
Tim Hardaway Jr. (at Dallas)
Tim Hardaway Jr. has become a very acceptable shooting guard piece in fantasy these days. He’s averaging 33.4 minutes per game this season, up over eight minutes per game from his career. He’s taking a career-high 9.1 three-point attempts per game and he’s nearly doubled his career total in field-goal attempts per game, from 10.4 to 20. In addition to the big minutes he’s playing, he leads this New York Knicks team with a 30.9 usage rate. He has back-to-back 40+ point DraftKings games and tonight’s matchup against Dallas is an absolute cupcake for him. Dallas is allowing 116.6 points per game to be scored against them and the field goals (points) are Hardaway’s primary source of fantasy points.

Small Forward
Jabari Parker (vs. Indiana)
Parker’s a guy everybody projected to get a major bump after the injury to Bobby Portis. However, he’s been a bit sporadic in his performances and only finished with 16.8 DraftKings points on Wednesday night against Denver. If we dig into the box score though, we see the 36 minutes he played were a season-high. He missed all of his three-pointers and only shot 30% from the field. This is a player that typically shoots 49% from the field in his career and hits about 1/3 of his three-pointers. In a solid matchup tonight against Indiana, if he can put up 36 minutes, I’m going to bet that the shooting numbers can correct themselves and he’ll have a monster game at an underpriced salary.

Power Forward
Tobias Harris (at Orlando)
Tobias Harris averages 34 minutes per game this season for the Los Angeles Clippers. He’s always been a player that’s been able to produce very good numbers on a per minute basis and is finally playing enough to vault him to the top of this position. He’s racked up a 23.7% usage rate for the Clippers this year and it’s led to slightly over one fantasy point per minute on the season. The minutes are there, the usage is there, and tonight he gets a good matchup against his former team, the Orlando Magic. All things point towards Tobias Harris putting up another solid performance at a mid-range price tag.
Others to Consider: Draymond Green, Aaron Gordon
Center
DeAndre Jordan (vs. New York)
DeAndre Jordan’s been a force with his new team. He averages 14.9 rebounds per game and has an outstanding 24.4% rebound rate. Tonight, Dallas is at home to take on the New York Knicks with a team total of 112. There’s not an elite center on the board tonight, but rather a series of very solid options. I would list Jordan in the first tier at this position on the slate and he comes in at a slight discount on Nikola Vucevic and Karl Anthony Towns. With tonight looking like a balanced approach in the lineup building, I think it makes sense to get one of these very solid options at the center position. For me, DeAndre Jordan holds such a high floor that he’s the player I’m targeting.
