POINT GUARD
Luka Doncic - Dallas (at Toronto) - DK: $11,000 / FD: $11,200 / Yahoo: $54
I shouldn’t have to explain this recommendation too much. Luka Doncic is a beast, hitting 77+ fantasy points in three of his last five. Dallas will need him to keep absorbing a ton of usage for their shorthanded backcourt (Hardaway Jr. questionable, Richardson out, etc). His opponent, Toronto, has been somewhat shaky on defense this season - ranking 22nd in team defensive efficiency as well as 22nd against the point guard position.
Also Consider: Dennis Schroder
SHOOTING GUARD
Victor Oladipo - Houston (at Chicago) - DK: $7,500 / FD: $7,500 / Yahoo: $27
Oladipo will make his Houston debut tonight, and the Rockets will need him to immediately step up as their top playmaker. John Wall will miss his third straight game tonight, giving Oladipo plenty of room to make an impression. We can assume that Victor will be energized by the change in scenery, and this is an excellent matchup for him to take advantage - Chicago ranks 27th in defensive efficiency to backcourts.
Also Consider: James Harden, Tim Hardaway Jr. (if playing)
SMALL FORWARD
OG Anunoby - Toronto (vs. Dallas) - DK: $6,000 / FD: $5,800 / Yahoo: $19
We are going to need some value to balance any lineup featuring Doncic and/or Oladipo. That’s where Anunoby comes in as a serviceable mid-range bargain. He’s a steady producer with reliable minutes, resulting in a cool 33 FPPG average over his last three. That’s a realistic expectation for tonight’s competitive game vs. Dallas.
Also Consider: Khris Middleton, Garrett Temple
POWER FORWARD
Kristaps Porzingis - Dallas (at Toronto) - DK: $8,200 / FD: $6,900 / Yahoo: $24
This pick depends on the DFS site. Simply put, Porzingis is too cheap on FanDuel and Yahoo. As for DraftKings, someone like Chris Boucher makes for a better power forward when comparing salaries. The price tag hasn’t been fully adjusted on FanDuel and Yahoo, and Porzingis has ramped up close to full minutes (30-33). It may seem risky to roll with Doncic and Porzingis in the same lineup, but “KP” is too cheap to ignore in those aforementioned spots. The Mavs will need him to hold down the frontcourt with Maxi Kleber and Dwight Powell still out.
Also Consider: Lauri Markkanen, James Johnson
CENTER
Brook Lopez - Milwaukee (at Brooklyn) - DK: $5,600 / FD: $5,300 / Yahoo: $16
To be honest, the center position doesn’t look great on this slate. DraftKings gives you the benefit of multi-position eligibility, but it’s still tough to find a big man to get excited about. Brook Lopez probably doesn’t check that box, but his bargain salary helps you reach for upside elsewhere. He’s playing in the highest-scoring game of the night (239 over/under) against a Brooklyn team that ranks 28th in defensive efficiency to centers. “BroLo” has notched 29+ fantasy points in each of his last two, and that would represent a solid return on his accommodating salary.
Also Consider: DeAndre Jordan
