Marlins recalled RHP Luarbert Arias from Triple-A Jacksonville.
Arias provides Miami with some extra relief depth heading into Sunday’s series finale against the Mariners. The 24-year-old righty has struggled in four appearances this season at the highest level.

White Sox activated LHP Fraser Ellard off the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte.
Hold Muncy if placed on injured list
Eric Samulski advises fantasy managers to "hold" Max Muncy if placed on the injured list, who has produced in a big way since the beginning of May, and discusses the outlook for Dodgers' call-up Esteury Ruiz.
  • CWS Shortstop #83
White Sox recalled INF Colson Montgomery from Triple-A Charlotte.
  • BAL 2nd Baseman #11
Jordan Westburg (finger) is hitting second and playing third base agaisnt Atlanta on Friday.
Westburg missed five straight games with his left index finger injury, and while he told reporters he won’t be 100 percent for a while, he’s good enough to go for the opening game against Atlanta on Friday.
  • BOS Relief Pitcher #76
Red Sox placed RHP Zack Kelly on the 15-day injured list with a right oblique strain.
Kelly’s option to Triple-A Worcester was rescinded, and instead he’ll be placed on the shelf for the next couple of weeks. He could be back in the Boston bullpen shortly after the All-Star break.
  • BAL Right Fielder #9
Orioles activated OF Tyler O’Neill off the 10-day injured list.
As expected, O’Neill is ready to go to begin a three-game series against Atlanta. The 30-year-old ended up missing six weeks with his shoulder issue, and has not been effective in his first season in Baltimore. There’s time for that to change, and fantasy managers have seen what O’Neill is capable of when healthy and “locked in.”
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #49
Mets recalled Chris Devenski from Triple-A Syracuse.
Devenski will be an option out of the bullpen while Jose Butto (undisclosed) is unavailable through the All-Star break. That doesn’t guarantee that Devenski will be here that long. That’ll depend on his usage/effectiveness.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #70
Mets placed RHP Jose Butto on the 15-day injured list.
The injury isn’t being disclosed, but the hope is that Butto is back shortly after the All-Star break. Chris Devenski will take his roster spot.
  • BOS Shortstop #10
Trevor Story went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer, four RBI and a steal as the Red Sox crushed the Nationals 11-2 on Friday.
Story hadn’t had a four-hit game since Aug. 13, 2023. He’s 13-for-24 with two homers and 10 RBI in his last six games, raising his OPS to .697. He was at .591 on this day a month ago, and he hasn’t been over .700 since May 3. He’s also now 14-for-14 stealing bases. Byron Buxton, at 15-for-15, is the only other player with as many steals and zero failures.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #54
Lucas Giolito limited the Nationals to one run in 7 2/3 innings and struck out seven to earn a win Friday.
It was Giolito’s first time pitching into the eighth since Aug. 9, 2021. Since giving up seven runs in 1 2/3 innings on June 4, taking his ERA to 6.42, he’s allowed a total of three earned runs over 32 2/3 innings in five starts. He’s now 5-1 with a 3.66 ERA through 12 starts, and he looks like a nice option next week in a home start against the Rockies.
  • WSH Starting Pitcher #34
Michael Soroka was tagged for seven runs in four-plus innings by the Red Sox in a loss Friday.
Soroka was in pretty good shape in allowing two runs through four innings, but he opened the fifth by giving up three hits and his only two walks of the day. Zach Brzykcy took over with two on and three runs already in and allowed both runners to score before giving up two runs of his own, turning it into a seven-run frame for the Red Sox. It’s the first time in 12 starts this season that Soroka has allowed more than four runs, though quick hooks have helped there. That he didn’t have one today pushed his ERA all of the way up to 5.40. He’ll likely face the Cardinals in his next start.
