Athletics recalled LHP Jacob Lopez from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Lopez rejoins the Athletic’s bullpen mix with starter J.T. Ginn hitting the injured list with elbow inflammation. The 27-year-old lefty has made three scoreless relief appearances this season in the big leagues.
  • LAA 1st Baseman #18

Nolan Schanuel went 3-for-4 with an RBI in a win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Schanuel also drew a walk to make it a four-reach day. The 23-year-old first baseman has driven in 40 runs over the Angels’ first 94 games, and he’s slashed a solid — if unspectacular — .278/.368/.405. The floor for Schanuel is high. The ceiling is very much a question mark.
Players to watch in MLB All-Star Futures Game
James Schiano spotlights the rising stars to watch in this weekend's 2025 All-Star Futures Game in Atlanta.
  • ARI 3rd Baseman #28
Eugenio Suárez homered twice in a loss to the Angels on Saturday.
The Diamondbacks have been a disappointment in 2025. Suárez has not. The pair of solo bombs gives him 31 roundtrippers on the season — with both coming off Yusei Kikuchi — and he also scored another run after drawing a walk. Suárez is not the defensive player he was a few years ago, but that offense is going to make him one of the most intriguing players who could possibly be moved before the end of July.
  • LAA Center Fielder #27
Mike Trout homered and drove in four runs in a 10-5 win over the Diamondbacks for the Angels on Saturday.
Trout’s 17th homer of the 2025 campaign gave the Angels a 6-2 lead in the fifth. The future Hall of Famer drove in two more with a single in the eighth to make it 10-5 and put the game out of reach. Trout is hitting just .236, but the .471 slugging percentage and .359 on-base mark have been nice to see over the first half of the 2025 season.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #16
Yusei Kikuchi allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings in a win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Kikuchi was far from dominant, but didn’t have to be with Zac Gallen performing inadequately in his five innings. The 2025 All-Star struck out five, but gave up a pair of homers to Eugenio Suárez and an RBI single to Randal Grichuk. The last two starts weren’t overly impressive, but Kikuchi has had an excellent first half with a 3.11 ERA and 115/49 K/BB ratio over 20 starts and 113 innings. His next appearance will likely take place at the All-Star Game in Atlanta on Tuesday.
  • ARI Starting Pitcher #23
Zac Gallen allowed six runs over five innings in a loss to the Angels on Saturday.
Gallen was excellent over his last two starts and appeared to be turning a corner, but Saturday was another lackluster effort for the 29-year-old. He struck out only three before leaving, and he gave up eight walks and two walks while seeing his ERA bump up to 5.40 in his final outing before the All-Star break. Gallen is a good bounceback candidate for the second half, but fantasy managers who invested a mid-round pick in Gallen have the right to be concerned and disappointed.
  • TEX Catcher #11
Kyle Higashioka hit a solo homer to tie the game in the ninth inning against the Astros on Saturday in an extra-inning loss for the Rangers.
Higashioka homered off Josh Hader in the ninth inning with two outs to keep the game going, but the Rangers were unable to complete the comeback. The 35-year-old has done a nice job behind the plate for Texas, but his .253/.290/.358 slash along with four homers and 25 RBI doesn’t do much from a fantasy perspective.
  • HOU Shortstop #38
Zack Short hit a walk-off single in the 11th to give the Astros a 5-4 win over the Rangers on Saturday.
Short came in as a pinch-runner, and then came up big with a one-out single to score Cam Smith to give Houston the win. The 30-year-old journeymen has done a decent job since being promoted a little over a week ago with a .278/.350/.389 slash, but obviously that doesn’t offer much fantasy value even before considering his lack of playing time.
  • HOU Relief Pitcher #71
Josh Hader blew a save while allowing a run over an inning of work against the Rangers on Saturday.
Hader looked like he was going to breeze through the outing to pick up a save, but instead blew his second-straight game when he allowed a solo homer against Kyle Higashioka. Yes, that Kyle Higashioka. He’s now allowed runs in three of his last four appearances, and his 1.67 ERA entering July is now up to 2.53. There’s no reason to panic just yet, but there’s every reason to be disappointed in those results as of late.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #59
Framber Valdez struck out 10 over six innings while allowing just an unearned run, but didn’t factor in the decision Saturday against the Rangers.
Valdez looked like he was going to pick up a win in his final start before the All-Star break, but Josh Hader blew a save to prevent that from happening. It was still an outstanding effort from the 31-year-old; one that lowered his ERA to 2.75 over 121 innings of work. Valdez was snubbed from the All-Star game, but he’ll be back on the mound next weekend against the Mariners.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #48
Jacob deGrom allowed two runs while striking out eight in his six innings of work in a no-decision versus the Astros on Saturday.
DeGrom was able to hold the Astros to just four hits, but two of those left the park on solo shots. The 37-year-old has been sensational in 2025 with a 2.32 ERA that has been backed by a 113/24 K/BB ratio across 19 starts and 112 1/3 innings.
