Zach Neto hit a go-ahead homer in the eighth inning to give the Angels a 4-3 win over the Pirates on Thursday.
He also doubled and singled. Neto turned a 3-3 tie into a 4-3 lead for the Halos with his second roundtripper of the season. Since returning from the injured list, he’s hit just .238, but it’s come with a .619 slugging percentage. Expect that batting average to rise and that slugging percentage to creep down, but it’s nice to see Neto contributing after returning from his shoulder issue.

Dane Myers made an early exit from Monday’s game against the Phillies after being hit by a pitch.
Myers was drilled in the left elbow by a pitch from Phillies starter Mick Abel in the second inning of Monday’s series opener and was replaced by Heriberto Hernandez in the outfield at the start of the fourth inning. He’ll presumably head for X-rays to determine whether he suffered any fractures. There should be an additional update on his status shortly.
Fantasy impact of Ohtani returning to mound
James Schiano explains the fantasy implications of Shohei Ohtani being expected to make his Dodgers pitching debut Monday night, sharing how fantasy baseball team managers should handle Ohtani's return to the mound.
  • ATH 2nd Baseman #20
Zack Gelof (hand, ribs) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Las Vegas.
Gelof was close to making it back last month from surgery to repair a hamate fracture in his right hand before suffering a stress reaction in his ribs that shut him down for a couple additional weeks. He’ll need a handful of contests in the minors to get back up to speed at the plate and in the field defensively before he’s ready to return to the Athletics’ lineup for his season debut.
  • HOU 3rd Baseman #15
Isaac Paredes (hamstring) is back in the lineup for Monday’s showdown against the Athletics.
Paredes is back at the hot corner and batting second for Monday’s series opener against the division-rival Athletics following a three-game absence due to a mild left hamstring strain. The 26-year-old infielder managed to avoid a trip to the injured list and should be a full-go heading into a jam-packed seven-game week.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #7
Blake Snell (shoulder) threw a bullpen session on Monday at Dodger Stadium
Snell has completed a couple bullpen sessions over the last week as he continues to make gradual progress in his recovery from a shoulder issue that put him on the shelf back in early April. The 32-year-old southpaw is finally pain free and should progress to facing hitters by late June or early July, which puts him on track to return at some point in the early stages of the second half.
  • BOS 3rd Baseman #40
Red Sox recalled INF/OF Nate Eaton from Triple-A Worcester.
Eaton was up with the Red Sox for a quick cup of coffee earlier this month. The versatile 28-year-old returns to the majors in the wake of Boston’s decision to trade franchise icon Rafael Devers to San Francisco. He’ll occupy a bench role for now and figures to split time between several defensive spots.
  • SD Center Fielder #59
Padres selected the contract of OF Bryce Johnson from Triple-A El Paso.
Johnson joins San Diego’s active roster in a bench role ahead of Monday’s series opener against the Dodgers. The 29-year-old speedster provides the Padres with a capable center fielder and pinch-running specialist while Jackson Merrill is on the concussion injured list.
  • SD Catcher #12
Padres optioned C Luis Campusano to Triple-A El Paso.
Campusano heads back to the minors with San Diego needing to bring up some extra outfield depth while Jackson Merrill is on the concussion injured list. The 26-year-old backstop has made some serious noise this season at the Triple-A level, but he’s gone hitless in 18 at-bats over nine games in the big leagues.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #11
Padres transferred RHP Yu Darvish to the 60-day injured list.
The procedural move doesn’t impact Darvish’s return timeline since he’s been on the shelf since mid-March due to elbow issues. The 38-year-old veteran remains in a bit of a holding pattern as he continues throwing bullpen sessions, but doesn’t appear close to making his season debut.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #17
Shohei Ohtani will start Monday’s series opener against the Padres.
It’s officially happening. Ohtani returns to a major-league mound for the first time since August 23, 2023. The 30-year-old two-way sensation is unlikely to pitch more than one or two innings on Monday night at Dodger Stadium since he threw only 44 pitches last week in his most recent simulated game. It’s worth noting that Los Angeles isn’t giving him the night off from hitting as he’s also at DH and leading off during his return to the mound. Get your popcorn ready.
  • ATH Relief Pitcher #70
Athletics activated RHP J.T. Ginn from the 15-day injured list.
Ginn figures to take the ball on Tuesday night against the division-rival Astros in his return from the injured list. The 26-year-old righty has been out since late May recovering from a quad strain. He’s not a recommended option for fantasy purposes outside of extremely deep mixed leagues.
